Think Web3 security requires an entirely new playbook? Think again.
BSSC bridges proven cybersecurity practices with the unique challenges of Web3, developing standards that strengthen security across the blockchain ecosystem.
For Cybersecurity Awareness Month, we're highlighting a BSSC blog by Max CM, Security Architect at Figment, exploring why blockchain security starts with the cybersecurity fundamentals we already know.

On October 16, 2026, Adam Rak, BSSC Executive Director, will be in Washington D.C. at Groundwork. Joining other industry experts for a panel discussion, Adam will be speaking on “Breaking Things on Purpose: How Do We Build Financial Systems We Can Trust?”
Rather than another industry conference, Groundwork is designed as a place for open dialogue. This one-day forum in partnership with Blockchain Association explores how industry and academia should build better bridges for teaching and responsibly integrating DeFi into the future of finance.
Join us in-person to explore how technical vulnerabilities, operational failures, financial crime, compliance and human behavior interact, and what future engineers, lawyers, analysts and financial professionals need to understand about designing resilient financial systems: luma.com/groundwork_dc?tk=HY…
