I'm going to call out something happening in the @kickcommunity right now because I think a LOT of people need to actually READ the Terms of Service before jumping on the outrage train!
I've NEVER had a chargeback, but I spent some time reading Kick's actual terms and Stripe's payment policies.
HERE ARE THE FACTS!
Kick's Terms of Service, Section 4.5, specifically states that by using the platform, you agree to Stripe's Services Agreement.
Section 4.6 goes even further!
It CLEARLY states that Kick reserves the right to withhold payments OR charge back amounts to your account when payments are disputed, including credit card chargebacks.
THIS IS IN THE TERMS YOU AGREED TO!
Kick also uses Stripe to handle creator payouts.
When a payment is disputed, the money can be deducted from the applicable balance. If there aren't enough funds, a negative balance can result. That debt may be recovered through future earnings or other permitted collection methods.
That's how payment processing works. This isn't something Kick just invented overnight!
Now, I'm NOT saying every chargeback is justified. Fraudulent chargebacks SUCK, and creators absolutely deserve transparency and a fair dispute process.
But here's where I'm confused.
What EXACTLY is @Kick doing that violates its own terms or goes beyond normal payment processing?
Are creators actually being charged incorrectly, or are we getting outraged over a payment policy that's been there all along?
I'm all for holding Kick accountable when they screw up. I've done it myself!
But there's a BIG difference between a company doing something wrong and people simply not understanding the agreement they accepted.

Been dealing with this for months now. I actually improved my stats, stayed consistent, and somehow my earnings got worse. That’s the part that really doesn’t make sense to me.
I still believe in Kick, but there needs to be way more transparency for mid creators trying to grow.
The experience as of lately with Kick.
I love the platform but what I feel about the platform is just results as of lately.
- No clear path to growth.
- No strong discovery tools
- Contracts favor top creators, not grinders
- Mid creators feel stuck or invisible
- Chat often dead unless you’re already big.
- raids, hype culture not the same as Twitch.
- Hard to feel alive as a viewer watching as a creator.
- Viewers don’t build habits they leave.
- Follow for Follow.
- Tab for Tab.
Twitch = community + emotes + culture.
YouTube = content + longevity.
TikTok = virality
Kick = ??? You get what I mean?
Right now it feels like a place where big streamers stream instead of a culture.
Yes, creators get paid which is a game changer for creators but Viewers don’t feel rewarded/engaged.
No strong loyalty systems.
No reason to stay vs just watch clips elsewhere.
It becomes transactional, not community driven.
All love at the end of the day but just opinions.
