Coe is qualified. Loftis is terrible. That’s why I introduced articles to remove him.
I commend Republicans in the senate for trying to hold him accountable.
Hopefully, voters will act where the House failed to.
South Carolinians do not deserve four more years of Curtis Loftis’ chaos, refusal to acknowledge his role in financial blunders that misled investors and triggered an ongoing SEC investigation of SC. postandcourier.com/opinion/e…
I voted against this bill for the reasons aptly explained by @CindiScoppe. I’ll always fight for a better deal for ratepayers.
Virginia politicians have already extracted larger consumer concessions from NextEra, but SC politicians are such homers for monopoly power companies that it can just give us crumbs. postandcourier.com/opinion/c…

🚨 🚨 Interesting that the House is still debating the maps but Senate Judiciary has been noticed that we will meet tomorrow at 2pm to start our discussion. If you would like to testify at the committee you can come up to the Gressette Senate Building tomorrow and there will be a sign up sheet at the door. #Scpol #Redistricting #RiggedGame

Potentially a history making moment today but Rep. Heather Bauer fed her infant on the House floor today. (Photo via legislative Dems)
A handful of new/ish parents in the legislature it seems like (seen a lot of kids this year!) but not sure this has happened before.
Today we kicked off the bipartisan South Carolina HBCU Caucus! We were fortunate to have attendance from all HBCUs. Let’s get some work done for our future generations!

The Comeback: A Conversation on How SC Democrats Can Fight and Win Again
323 turns SC into a bounty state. Forces girls and rape victims to be mothers. It’s dangerous.
🚨 South Carolina’s most extreme abortion ban ever, SB 323, is here. It would:
❌ Ban abortion
❌ Criminalize patients, doctors & families
❌ Threaten birth control & IVF
Speak out: Wed, Oct 1 @ 9:30 AM, SC State House

The MAGA Republican supermajority are having a hearing on a full abortion ban 10/1/25. Mark your calendars to show up.
I look forward to them explaining to South Carolinians why women should give birth to their rapists’ babies & 10-year-old incest victims should become mothers.
Trump is compiling our personal data to track who’s voting, when & where with no explanation.
Remember when Republicans in SC claimed they believed in small gov., federalism & personal responsibility? Not anymore.
Why do they need this data? What do they plan to do with it?
Trump’s Justice Department wants South Carolina voter rolls. It’s the personal data of millions. trib.al/amMXw7l

Others, like Bauer, said more should have been done to interrupt Republicans in their daily course of business, especially with the 2026 election cycle approaching.
“My philosophy has been, ‘we don't have the numbers, but we can make their lives hell up there,’" Bauer said.
SC Democrats struggle with direction and leadership after rough 2025 Statehouse session trib.al/EuTusMi
Today at the Statehouse, colleagues are bowing to their Lord and Savior Donald Trump.
I fixed one of their amendments to make it explicitly clear whose ring they’re kissing.
Surprise! It ain’t South Carolinians’.

CSF PRIORITY BILL CLEARS SC HOUSE UNANIMOUSLY
Spearheaded by the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation and the South Carolina Legislative Sportsmen’s Caucus, House Bill 3872 has cleared the House and is headed to the Senate for further consideration.
House Bill 3872 would limit the loss of public hunting access by establishing a minimum acreage of publicly owned areas open for hunting in the Palmetto State.
House Bill 3872 did not receive a single “No” vote in Subcommittee, Committee, or on the House floor and was passed earlier today on a 110-0 vote.
CSF would like to again thank Representatives Heather Bauer and Bobby Cox for their leadership on this initiative.

Editorial: SC comptroller resigned. The auditor resigned. Loftis needs to join them. trib.al/HUUkvs9
Good. Now Treasurer Loftis should do the right thing and resign too.
NEW: South Carolina's state auditor tangled up in the $1.8B accounting error has resigned, via me + @rangerruss.
The auditor's exit is the 2nd big resignation related to the accounting error after the then-comptroller general.

Ahead of tomorrow’s expected release of a report into SC’s $1.8B mystery, Treasurer Curtis Loftis tells @sclbc1 “there is no mystery bank account with $1.8B in it…every dime is accounted for.” In response to a Q from @bmbrbauer, Loftis says he doesn’t know what the report says.
