a 0-day only works if you run the same TCP/IP stack everybody else runs. each month ask claude to write you a new posix-compatible kernel then throw the code away. it won't be bulletproof but it will be more secure than using the kernel ubuntu ships
Hard to overstate how big this is.
tl;dr - CVE-2026-98432: a remote use-after-free in the Linux IPv4 TCP handshake (kernels 4.4+).
Any unpatched server that accepts IPv4 TCP on an MPTCP listener can be taken over as root, with no credentials. Go servers built with Go 1.24+ use MPTCP listeners by default.
Ubuntu and RHEL have no fixed kernel yet. Check with ss -Mlnp. Quick fix for Go: GODEBUG=multipathtcp=0.
this is a pitch for malleable/end-user software; meta's app isn't interested in feedback because there are just too many of you and you might be lying. _your_ app can accept and believe and immediately act on your feedback
I would love to see a map of watershed basins but instead it's where "the city" refers to, when someone asks you where you're from

I am continually surprised that this doesn't cause more problems
git merge mostly just works without introducing any bugs but it has this seemingly huge flaw!
looking forward to an LLM-aided git merge which considers the intent & semantics of each commit while merging

how would one automatically generate these alignments?
throwing a bunch of paintings through an embedding model into a similarity search doesn't quite seem like it does the trick: this alignment is so perfect because it's a small crop of the original painting
really enjoying @_MathAcademy_
the gamification is subtle, but strong enough that it's helped me brush up on basics and average ~an hour of math per day for the last 2 months
a great post on how to read prediction market prices, sometimes they're biased even when everyone is acting rationally. be sure to click through to the fed working paper

The existence of undetectable backdoors seems to suggest some kind of impossibility result for alignment: you have no idea what your optimizer might have planted in there: arxiv.org/abs/2204.06974
Very ironic that the anti-virus triggered this. Why should a virus even be possible on these things? Most of these are playing a loop and would prefer to be a raspberry pi and a thumb drive, barely online.
