Hey Renewal and Replanting Pastors - would you consider helping us understand receptivity to living in a parsonage short term - so that a renewing church could increase your take home pay for a season? Provide feedback on size, conditions, fit and finish? I'd be grateful.
Today is the first month of Pastor Appreciation. As an Associational Strategist I've been in phone and text conversations with Pastors who are aren't being very appreciated-it happens every single year.

We want to plant, water and reap—all during our tenure and preferably before the next annual report. But ministry rarely unfolds that neatly bit.ly/4y8uBzr
How does a Church Plant in need of space and a declining church praying for it's future come together - doing what neither could do alone? This is their story. bit.ly/4y4DTMz
There are moments where courage demands one break ranks, ignore the 11th commandment, stand up, speak the truth, telling a close or formerly close colleague to; "knock it off" in Jesus name. I'm praying it will be so. Let the reader understand.

I was driving the "big" kids to Dawson Elementary in Corpus Christi TX, listening to KKTX "Lago in the Morning" he broke in from a commercial and said a plane hit one of the towers. Our church staff gathered, we watched the towers fall, parents picked up kids from school.
Several conversations with friends this week multiple people said:
“As I get older If I ever (say, write, blog, podcast) something stupid-heretical-awful, please come and slap me.”
Words to live by.
May we age with grace and humility.
Sometimes the first sign of renewal isn’t a growing crowd. It’s when the light comes back into the eyes of God’s people: bit.ly/4xru3UM
Church renewal isn't flashy but regular good old Pastoring and Shepherding. There's hope for every church. More over at this week's Bickford Brief: bit.ly/4gbxvwP
