DEVELOPING: BREAKTHROUGH: By members from Eldorado Park Crime Intelligence, Detectives and Visible Policing (VISPOL). Five suspects in connection with an armed robbery targeting an e-hailing driver in Eldorado Park Extension 7 have been arrested. The incident occurred on Tuesday, 27 October 2026, at approximately 11:00. The 20-year-old, e-hailing driver, operating a white Toyota Etios, responded to a ride request to pick up a passenger on Maine Street. Upon arrival, a female suspect signaled the driver and entered the front passenger seat, instructing him to wait for her brothers. Two male suspects subsequently joined them. Shortly after the second male entered, one suspect engaged the vehicle’s handbrake while the group forcibly robbed the driver of an undisclosed amount of cash, his driver’s licence, identity document, and bank cards. During the incident, a fourth suspect standing outside the vehicle reportedly fired a gunshot and demanded the driver's mobile phone. The suspects subsequently fled the scene without taking the phone. No injuries reported. All suspects are expected to appear before court soon on charges related to armed robbery and firearm offences. Story developing @eNCA

#sapsLIM [RELENTLESS POLICE OPERATIONS DISRUPT CRIMINAL NETWORKS AND RECOVER MILLIONS IN ASSETS] The South African Police Service (SAPS) in Limpopo, in collaboration with the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) and other law enforcement partners, has dealt a significant blow to cross-border criminal syndicates through a series of intelligence-driven operations conducted between 21 September and 25 October 2026. The operations targeted strategic routes, border areas and illegal crossing points leading towards the Limpopo River and the Zimbabwean border. They resulted in the recovery of stolen vehicles valued at millions of rand, the seizure of illicit cigarettes and controlled medicines, and the arrest of suspects linked to organised crime networks. The operations were conducted along key routes and hotspots, including the N1 corridor, Musina, Tshamutumbu, Makhado, Malala Drift, Sandquest and surrounding areas, focusing on disrupting vehicle smuggling and the movement of illicit goods across South Africa’s borders. Ten vehicles were recovered, including a Haval H6, Ford Ranger, Toyota Fortuner, two Nissan Navaras, VW Polo, Subaru Outback, Suzuki Ertiga and Mercedes-Benz. Preliminary investigations revealed that the vehicles were allegedly destined for neighbouring Zimbabwe. Investigations further established a common modus operandi involving false registration plates, tampered Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs), removed engine numbers and other methods associated with organised vehicle-smuggling syndicates. Law enforcement officers also confiscated 252 master boxes and 499 cartons of Remington Gold cigarettes (Gold and Blue variants), as well as 412 bottles of controlled medicines, comprising Astrapain, Painagon and Stillpane. The recovered vehicles have an estimated value of R3.9 million, while the seized cigarettes and medicines are valued at approximately R5.7 million, bringing the total financial impact on criminal syndicates to R9 616 944.00. Six suspects were arrested during the operations and are expected to face various charges related to possession of suspected stolen vehicles, contravention of customs and excise legislation, and other offences linked to organised crime activities. The Provincial Commissioner of Limpopo, Lieutenant General JP Scheepers, praised the dedication, vigilance and collaboration displayed by members involved in the operations. #fightingcrime #TrioCrimes #CrossBorderCrimes SG saps.gov.za/newsroom/ms.php?…

Tshwane CFO Gareth Mnisi (UJuda wethu)has returned to work after internal affairs cleared him of any offence, yet the evidence presented over three days at the Madlanga Commission raises serious questions about that outcome. Evidence leader Matthew Chaskalson SC put the following to Mnisi relating to tenders •He maintained a close friendship with Sgt Fannie Nkosi, describing him as a brother for life. •Nkosi allegedly approached him to influence a Tshwane bid in favour of a company linked to Nkosi’s brother, Bheki. •He assisted Fannie with a separate bid involving a Bheki linked company while the Tshwane tender process was still open. •He communicated directly with Bheki Nkosi, inviting him to bid on another tender. •In one message to Fannie he wrote: “I have sent the above to Bheki. We need to regroup on it.” •Fannie was drawn into internal TMPD payment and termination matters. •Confidential documents were shared, including a competitor’s priced invoice. •None of these relationships or interactions were disclosed to the independent legal firm overseeing the process. Chaskalson contended that the non disclosure alone was enough to create a reasonable apprehension of bias that could invalidate the tender. Mnisi rejected the allegations. He maintained he had no interest in the companies involved, received no benefit from Nkosi, and that all decisions were taken collectively under external legal oversight. He denied that the friendship or communications created any reasonable apprehension of bias. #MadlangaCommission
