Agreed. Philo doesn't read the field as well and we saw a completely different progression of reads with Tramell vs Texas. Not to mention the plays that were extended with his legs which is something Philo can't or won't do when needed. That's critical
Beyond stupid on Sumrall’s part as this is how you lose a fan base if Georgia kicks your teeth in and Philo stumble.
Jones just helped get that win at Texas, after Philo was a part or some big losses—so now if Philo can’t beat Georgia, the fan base will say that Jones could’ve gotten it done—despite being -11.5 in Atlanta.
Optics matter; start Jones and go to Philo if need be, but if Philo looks like trash—coming off of Jones helping upset Texas—this is bad for Sumrall.
