The US government just signaled that LLMs are now powerful enough to control like a strategic asset. The only data that is truly yours is the data nobody else can read. Privacy by design. Strong encryption. Not optional anymore.
The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees.
The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance.
Access to all other Claude models is not affected.
We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible.

MEGA turns 13! 🎉
Since day one, MEGA has grown from an ambitious idea into a platform trusted by 338 million registered users worldwide to store, share, and protect their data.
Along the way, we’ve expanded our services, strengthened our infrastructure, and stayed focused on one core belief: users should stay in control of their data.
Looking ahead to 2026, we’re investing in modernisation, stability, and meaningful enhancements across our products. Expect a faster, even better MEGA experience, with new features that continue to improve how you use MEGA every day. So stay tuned!
MEGA exists because of the people who build it and the people who use it. To our global team, and to the millions who trust MEGA with their data: thank you for shaping the past 13 years and what comes next.

I have been a patient of Dr Hanne since 2011. This guilty verdict is an absolute disgrace. The system in NZ is so clearly broken. Punishing a highly experienced medical professional for deeply caring about his patients is not the solution. 🤦♂️
An Auckland GP accused of incorrectly prescribing ritalin and other ADHD drugs has been found guilty of professional misconduct.

Always feared this day, fortunately it’s not so bad. Now he will have to learn cycling with one arm to school. 😀 Very impressive care by the nurses at Starship Hospital. The only bill was the parking ticket. Grateful to live in a country with a health system that works. 🇳🇿

Fascinating hearing about climate change. The livestream is playing Papaya from @tubebackrmusic during the break, but they failed to give attribution as required by their license. Is @CourtsofNZ inadvertently breaching s32 of the Copyright Act? 🤔
