This summer's intense and prolonged heat in the UK drove trees into dormancy, but in November, trees are showing us their spring flowers, six months early.
Kew Gardens and the Woodland Trust are very concerned how this will affect pollinators and the trees' health.
Kevin Martin, head of tree collections at Kew said:
"They won’t have those buds again in the spring."
He said the true impact of this won't be known until spring 2028.

Trumpism might be dead in America but it is now thriving in Australia under the rule of Australia’s unelected special envoy on spreading Islamophobia Jillian Segal.
My latest article for @shot_au where I point out that Segal's latest 'report' was not requested by government or the PM.
It's simply a rehash of last year's report - with a purpose beyond its pages.
It's arrival has more to do with her strategy of filling media spaces with antisemitism angst now the royal commission is over, and also influencing the royal commission findings.
It is also a document designed to inflame culture wars and get people arguing and create political division - a classic tactic of conservatives the world over.
Nothing Segal says is new, (except of course for the astonishing claim she makes that all Jews in Australia are unbothered by neo-Nazis!)

Follow the trail of lies to Boca Chica - where what Musk has built there was never even close to what he had permission to build.
He ran roughshod over the previous administration in Texas, and the newly elected one is already showing more spine.
Musk COULD and SHOULD be made to bulldoze Starbase. The incorporation of the town can be reversed or found fault with resulting in its dissolution.
Musk was given permission to build THIS (attached photo) in Boca Chica. A single Falcon 9/Heavy assembly and launch complex to support cargo to the ISS.
7am-7pm, Monday to Friday. 6 launches per year.
Everything else was Musk overstepping because he was never kept in check.

Today I learned about a woman who was an engineer for NASA and went into labor at work. She refused to leave without taking blueprints with her. She made a critical discovery that saved the Apollo 13 mission and called her boss from the delivery room.
And that's how I learned that Jack Black's mom is just as epic as he is.

AotearoaNZ has a reckoning ahead. We have to acknowledge the fact that we have a highly bigoted population.
We cannot avoid having these difficult conversations within our communities.
Racism and bigotry have no place in modern societies and an election cycle won't fix it.
