While it was not my intention orginally, I ended up going through some of both my grandfathers’ papers, especially from #WWII, while in Maine. Their - and my grandmothers’ - heroism and courage in the face of unbelievable adversity I found inspirational at this moment in time ...

For startups that have open source projects, I’m increasingly hearing that before posting positions they just ping top contributors to see if they can hire them
Those contributors proved they know how to do the day-to-day work in ways better than an interview would prove. Plus they know what the product does, are motivated to help etc

Shoutout to @VerizonSupport @Verizon. A fallen tree took out out the Verizon equipment in the backyard from the nor'easter at 8am. Crew out by 1pm and the equipment replaced and back online - in the rain w/ fibre splicing and all - by 5:30pm. Well done and thank you.

I wrote up six suggestions for the FINOS community on my personal blog - first blog post in 5 years! - ahead of the @FINOSFoundation board meeting.
Lots of great stuff happening at the intersection of financial services & #opensource (1/8)

Fifth, I think financial services companies could benefit from business case (for open source) templates as well as a catalog of KPIs and industry benchmarks associated w/ open source use and, especially, contribution. (CC @CHAOSSproj, @todogroup) (6/8)

Sixth, I think the charters of open source programs should be further aligned with the software supply chain and vulnerability identification and mitigation work that happens in CISO orgs. (CC @theopenssf) (7/8)
