This was our solution to our soaker hose! We got a hose from our school and made our own soaker hose! We drilled holes into the hose with safety precautions. Now we have a soaker hose we can use in our area and put in the path we shoveled. #stem #RainwaterAndMosquitoesTrap

Just tried testing our prototype with melted snow water. The flow through the tire was good but it was a little slow filtering. So close to being done!!!! #STEAM #JerseyCity #PS28 #Prototype #Teamwork #hardwork #Snow #h2yo #Water #waterfilter

Tested our tire today. We were trying to check if it would actually run water down it. I put in 10 ounces, and 8 ounces came back. Not perfect, but pretty good! #h2yo #steamexpeditions #water #purification #waterpurification #prototype #testing #workinprogress #ps28 #JerseyCity

This is Prototype 1. The rainwater would have filled in from the top PVC pipe and go through the white PVC pipe in the middle. Once it is done going through, it would have went to the bottom container to store the rainwater. @STEMExpeditions #RainwaterAndMosquitoesTrap

This is the improved Prototype 2, made on @tinkercad! This has the same concept and design, however the small problems were fixed. Prototype 3 is a whole new improved design! #rainwaterharvesting #reuseaquainnature #steamexpeditions #stem #RainwaterAndMosquitoesTrap @MALISSA17

First off, that's awesome. Congratulations on your ingenuity. I would love to hear from one of our SLF researchers with their thoughts. 2nd, I love to see you wearing your masks while working. And 3rd, ask your teacher to check out this page: entsoc.org/chrysalis-fund.

@EntsocAmerica We are a 6th grade team from Jersey City, NJ. We built a device to remove and collect lantern fly eggs that are higher in trees. We tested on mortar and are looking forward to removing the real egg masses soon. What do you think? Thank you.
