I've transcended sidebar. I've been slowly turning my IDE into a Windows XP-inspired desktop. Agent threads are AIM chats, the background is a shader that reacts to thread activity, and all the fun lil apps are there too.

markdown all the way down internally, figma has talked about building something like this for 6+ years, at least the entire time i was there. in hindsight it makes perfect sense to have waited until now looking forward to multiplayer markdown editing with agents
Introducing Specs: a new medium for markdown that brings context into, out of, and across Figma AND it’s collaborative AND has unique-to-Figma visual features Live from Config India

I use child threads through @get_bb_app (~same as subsessions except can be Claude or Codex) and I highly recommend them over subagents. Subagents are good for one-off tasks, but child threads are more like teammates that build up their own context over many tasks and collaborate
Claude Code Desktop is now so much aware of its own capabilities and how it can work with you, like spinning off subsessions. I think of this almost like a v2, so many small details went into make it great.

I was inspired by this, so I rebuilt it as a bb plugin that any agent can use. Then Opus 5.5 used it to make a synth we can play together. We're trading harmonies here while I tweak the controls :)

We talk a lot about how AI makes it easy to churn out slop, as if AI and craft are at odds. What's often overlooked: building and iterating this quickly gives us so many more reps to develop skills, taste, and judgment. Craft is built through practice.

Claude Opus 5.5 might be one of the best design partners I’ve had as a PM. I’ll ramble through messy, half-formed thoughts on the user problems to solve, usability considerations, constraints, how the system might evolve, how the product should feel. It just... gets it.

big day for markdown
We are making Markdown files work natively across Google Drive and Docs. You can now preview .md files in Drive, open them in Docs, edit them, comment on them, and collaborate without converting the file into a Google Doc!
