Last year, Colorado gave up 649 rushing yards to opposing QBs. Through 6 games this year, the Buffs have allowed 10 rushing yards to QBs. Power 4 QBs have minus-16 yards on 28 carries against CU. Read why the #cubuffs are suddenly stingy in this area:

I was sitting at the Baccarat Bar at the Wynn recently, visiting with the father of a high school quarterback, discussing QB play. (Great spot, by the way. Highly recommend.) Today, he sent me this video with a simple message: “EXACTLY what we were talking about.”
Couldn't agree more.
I've watched this happen for over 20 years. We identify quarterbacks with exceptional physical traits, reward them with recruiting rankings, and too often mistake their athletic advantage for mastery of the position.
At the high school level, a quarterback can be the best athlete on the field and overcome poor decisions with superior physical ability. But as the competition improves, those advantages narrow. Suddenly, identifying coverage, managing protection, processing progressions, and delivering accurately within a compressed window become the difference between playing quarterback and simply making plays.
The concern isn't that we're evaluating physical traits. Those matter. It's that we're often evaluating what is easiest to measure rather than what is most important to project.
A 70-yard throw tells me something about arm strength. It tells me very little about whether that quarterback can recognize a rotating safety, eliminate a covered primary, and deliver the ball to his second option before panic sets in.
That's the evaluation challenge, and more importantly, the development opportunity.
The quarterback position is not a throwing position. It is a command position. Physical talent creates opportunity. Processing, decision-making, and repeatable accuracy determine how effectively that opportunity translates as competition improves.
You can take your Moral Victory Championship Belt and shove it up your ass. Buffs need to stop playing around and win the damn game. #GoBuffs

Colorado leads the Big 12 in tackles for loss (53) so far this season.
That’s the fourth-most in the Power 4.
The three teams ahead of them have played seven games (CU has played six).

One of the most impressive stats from Colorado's defense on Saturday vs Utah: Utah QB Devon Dampier had 8 carries for minus-8 yards.
Dampier has played 39 career games. Previous low: 14 yards (in his debut in 2023). He had rushed for 21+ yards in 33 straight games.

Some optimism for CU basketball fans
It is reported that the Buffs beat Marquette in their closed scrimmage the other week.
The buffs held Marquette to 70 points and Ian Inman had 21 points.
Still early. Don’t lose hope.

I want to give a MASSIVE shoutout to a guy who I feel hasn’t been talked about enough this season. 🦬 ⭐️
Sean Kinney (@SeanKinney_78) has stepped up tremendously after a shakey first start and has been an absolutely WALL in the center of this offensive line ever since.
He is currently their third highest graded offensive player, leads the team in both run blocking grade (72.6) and pass block grade (84.6) and has only 1 penalty.
He also, in 391 snaps, has not allowed a sack or a QB hit and has only allowed two total pressures.
He ranks as the 6th best center in all of FBS for guys who’ve played more than 300 snaps.
Making the jump from Lafayette College to the P4 is a big one, but Sean has been an absolute star on this offensive line and needs more attention. 🙌🏻

I don't buy this as being the real issue. Mental game of absorbing X's and O's has been Nix's strength from transferring to Oregon & taking over without issue, predraft interviews, & starting early in the NFL. I think that he isn't recovered from the playoff injury
Per @JayGlazer, the #Broncos changed their offensive terminology when Davis Webb became OC in the offseason. When Sean Payton took play-calling duties back from Webb, he switched it back to his terminology.
All the changing verbiage has played a role in Bo Nix’s struggles. Payton is confident Nix will be fine.

Former No. 1 overall recruit Bryce Underwood has been in contact with Missouri, Colorado, Oregon, Ole Miss and several other programs since being benched in favor of freshman QB Tommy Carr, according to his agent, Brandon Grier.

College football's NCAA transfer portal window is closed until January; contact with a player or their agent before entry is tampering under NCAA rules. No major outlets have corroborated these specific claims of recent contacts.
