If there is anyone with a passion for kingfishers, now is a good as time as any to seek them out. Today I walked alongside the River Don, from Wardsend Cemetery to the Five Weirs Walk and saw kingfishers on every section. @WildSheffield @RiverStewards @theblueloop

"Thames Water says bills must rise by more than £260 a year." Oh yes, GIVE US YOUR MONEY OR ELSE!!! Have you noticed that @thameswater never ever mention the fact that 28% of your bill actually goes to pay interest on the colossal mountain of debt they've gotten the company into. Not fixing the pipes, not clearing up their filthy sewage network, not providing a better service but penalising their customers for a problem they created. Curious that. #FloodTheStreets telegraph.co.uk/business/202…

An entire Ancient Woodland at Broadwater Road West Malling leveled illegally for mobile homes. Myself and others reported it to @TMBC_Kent and @ForestryEngland over the years when 10% had gone, again at 50%, now there's nothing left to save 👏👏👏

This is the Six Mile River as it reaches the Lough, yesterday. When you favour the economy over the rights of Nature, these are the shocking results. @deptinfra @mhclg @RDeanBlackwood @JamesAOrr @Feargal_Sharkey @niassembly

As of today every single sewage company in England and Wales is under investigation as part of the "largest ever criminal investigation", into "widespread non-compliance". What the hell has @Ofwat and @EnvAgency been doing the last 33 years? thisismoney.co.uk/money/mark…

And there is @ofwat’s contemptuous sleight of hand exposed. Nothing but more insult for bill payers and customers. @SouthernWater bills up 60% by 2030. @DwrCymru 40% @YorkshireWater 36% @thameswater 35% and on and on… They are truly taking us for fools!!!

Last month we reported that HMRC errors had let Paul Baxendale-Walker, the UK's most notorious tax avoidance promoter, escape a £14m penalty in 2023. It gets worse. A few months later, HMRC issued a "stop notice" to a PBW company, without noticing that it had been struck-off.

Today, we are premiering our third and final instalment of "Feargal Comes to Windermere" on our YouTube channel. In this next episode, we delve into the failure of the Environment Agency to perform their statutory duty, revisiting the Cunsey Beck fish kill. Just yesterday, The Guardian released an in-depth look at the failure of the Environment Agency under the current and previous governments, and this episode explores some of this as well as outlining what we would do if we were the incoming government. Head over to our YouTube channel at 7pm to watch the premiere, or head there now and click the notification so you can be reminded later. youtu.be/rZyBJXBZVVk In today’s episode, we discuss eNGO’s working with water companies, the impact of agriculture on Windermere and how we Save Windermere.  In some more exciting news, on Monday 17th, at our weekly Strike Against Sewage, we are delighted to be joined by one of the oldest sewage campaigns in the country, @sascampaigns . They are coming specifically to Windermere to join the strike with all the paraphernalia that comes with this amazing charity. If you are free from 9am - 10am on Monday morning, join us at the United Utilities information centre—I know you won't regret it. There is more to come next week, so keep your eyes peeled. We also want to give you an update on our latest crowdfunder. In just over a week, we have raised almost £18,000 for the campaign. We cannot thank you all enough for such enormous generosity. If you want to know more about what we do or are able to contribute, please head to crowdfunder.co.uk/p/save-win… You can also sign our 10 point plan for a sewage free Windermere by heading to savewindermere.com

This week @UKLabour published its manifesto, featuring high level pledges on nature and the climate. The party commits to restoring peatlands, planting woodlands and banning snares. We eagerly await more details on these plans. wildmoors.org.uk/wild-moors-…

One of the best publicly-accesible rewilding sites in London is due to be enclosed & destroyed for artificial pitches for @SpursOfficial. I visited Whitewebbs Park in Enfield to see why it’s special & why local people are against this destructive sell off by @EnfieldCouncil 🧵

Every sewage discharge is a massacre - research by @WildFishCons & @MattStaniek found a 76% fall in riverflies downstream of one single sewage outlet. Multiply that across the country, & that's an enormous chunk of the ecosystem slaughtered. theguardian.com/environment/…
Replying to @RussellB1ggs
Carried out lots of Riverfly tests on the Gaywood River & surprisingly I’ve never ever found a Mayfly below Bawsey ☹️Why would that be ? @EnvAgencyAnglia @GaywoodRiver
