Please do everything you can to avoid spoilers for Absolute Batman #25 because there are some big things in here! Another amazing issue from @Ssnyder1835 and Nick Dragotta! There are a lot of potential stories that could come from this and I want to see them all!
Not sure if this is a hot take but I feel like treating the release of solicitations each month as some big celebratory event does more harm than good for comics. Yes, it generates hype, but (especially on cbtwt) ppl also end up getting mad abt books that dont release for 3 mnths
Imagine being so paranoid by entertainment that you have to run through this checklist before you can watch anything.
12 MORE WAYS I SURVIVE HOLLYWOOD WOKENESS:
As soon as black characters start whining about RACE, I turn it off.
If the script starts out talking about social issues, but not advancing the story or the plot, I turn it off.
If the crime boss/kingpin/drug lord is a woman, I turn it off.
If the project is horror/action/sci-fi but the cast listing is FEMALE NAME then male name, I usually just skip.
If the female characters have male names, red flag for FEMINISM.
If someone in the story has mental health issues, I turn it off.
If the man starts losing things, I turn it off.
If the man starts getting beaten up by everyone he meets, I turn it off.
As soon as it becomes BATTLE OF THE SEXES, I turn it off.
As soon as the woman starts bitching at the man about all his “failures,” I turn it off.
If it's action, horror, sci-fi or any male genre but now stars WOMEN, I skip altogether.
And if the white male protagonist is still alive/unincarcerated/unpunished at the end, but there’s still 10-15 minutes left, that’s where I turn it off so i can have a happy ending.
What woke tropes do you avoid like the plague?
What's funny is that everyone makes a big deal about the number of store exclusive covers Absolute Batman has even though they're a non-factor to 99% of readers, but not one person has mentioned that DWJ's Chainkata #1 has 116 store exclusives. I wonder why that is?
How is this possible? cbtwt told me that DC hated Wonder Woman.

The fact that people are using "no Batman or Bruce Wayne" as a knock against #Clayface even though it was never promised is a level of stupidity that I can't comprehend. No one with an ounce of common sense expected Batman/Bruce Wayne to be in this or to even be mentioned.
#ClayfaceMovie Is awfully bad. Uninteresting, no Batman, no Bruce Wayne, an arranged and rewritten story, a terrible design ⬇️, humour, a missed appointment (again) for DC... and DC passed away. Game over: 3/10. Its final shape resembles the bottom of my toilet🤮💩

There were TWO Joker movies with no mention of Batman and no one said a word.
CLAYFACE apparently forgot one pretty important piece of DC lore:
Batman.
This is a Batman villain movie set in Gotham, and according to someone who saw the movie early, there’s no Batman reference, no Bruce Wayne reference, no Bat-Signal.
Nothing.
The director says you can “feel the shadow of Batman” over the movie.
Whatever the fuck that means.
We are four years into James Gunn’s DCU and the most Batman we’ve gotten is a few seconds of silhouette in CREATURE COMMANDOS.
What is going on over there?
I used to say Gunn was afraid of Superman.
Now I’m starting to think DC Studios is afraid of Batman.
Maybe they’re terrified of stepping on Matt Reeves. Maybe they don’t know how to introduce the DCU Batman without confusing audiences. Maybe they’re just overthinking the hell out of this.
But DC is the house Batman built.
You’re making a movie about one of his villains, in Gotham City, and somehow the Caped Crusader doesn’t even warrant a mention?
That’s insane to me.
I like the DCU. I want it to work.
But the longer this goes on, the more these “missed opportunities” start feeling less accidental.
Hell, even JOKER has Bruce Wayne.
Marc Spector: Moon Knight #9 comes out this week! It’s the end of the Mansion Ravenous story arc and, once again, @jedmackay and @TheWarblazer absolutely KILLED IT!!! There is simply no other Marvel book on the stands that looks like this. It is SOOOOO GOOD!!!
