Master the basics!! Our work below series focuses on the fundamentals of a routine ground ball:
🔒Glove on the ground out front
🔒Athletic position
🔒Funnel to the belly button
🔒Smooth and loose
The reality is this is what a lot of hitting practice should look like!! Practice needs to be harder than the game. Failure creates learning and adaptation

I think pitches per out is a very under valued stat. It’s consistent with an “attack mode” philosophy. Basically my goal is to get you out on this pitch.
Novel idea… Spend less pitch equity for outs, win more games.
Teams that THROW LESS PITCHES to acquire outs and strikeouts & have ⬆️ defensive efficiency win more games.
Leveraging communication is a tool to win in the margins take W’s!!!

Strutting in with matching tracksuits & soaking up all the boos just to get pumped 5-1 and told you're illiterate. The beautiful game
The best of the best at launch. Notice the similarities.
🔒Shoulders closed and slightly down
🔒Knob pointed at the catcher
🔒Wide athletic position
🔒Hips already starting to open

The Milwaukee, Tampa Bay, and Cleveland analytic departments.
These teams are teams that are definitely not obsessing over analytics.
We’ve spent years talking about the Dodgers payroll, but are we asking the WRONG question?
Milwaukee, Tampa Bay, Cleveland… year after year, these organizations find ways to compete without spending like the giants.
At what point do big-market teams stop obsessing over analytics and start POACHING the scouts from these organizations?
Maybe the biggest competitive advantage in baseball isn’t payroll. It’s knowing how to IDENTIFY TALENT that can compete when the lights are the brightest?..

I don’t have all the answers but I love baseball because of the ups and downs and constant grind. So here’s some thoughts for the “X hitting” war that is going on right now.

The people that need to understand this are either illiterate or willfully ignorant. Or both.
It’s amazing how a sea of dadcoaches and cloud-yellers convinced everyone that “Launch Angle” is a type of swing. Testament to propaganda. MPH is a type of car, too, I guess.
Launch Angle
* does not mean *
Uppercut Swing
Launch Angle is the angle of the ball launched. Its literally in the name
And you can get a launch angle conducive for a long hit even if you do what Tiger Woods does here, a decidedly NOT uppercut swing
