Dennis Ritchie created C in the early 1970s without Google, Stack Overflow, GitHub, or any AI ( Claude, Cursor, Codex) assistant.
- No VC funding.
- No viral launch.
- No TED talk.
- Just two engineers at Bell Labs. A terminal. And a problem to solve.
He built a language that fit in kilobytes.
50 years later, it runs everything.
Linux kernel. Windows. macOS.
Every iPhone. Every Android.
NASA’s deep space probes.
The International Space Station.
> Python borrowed from it.
> Java borrowed from it.
> JavaScript borrowed from it.
If you have ever written a single line of code in any language, you did it in Dennis Ritchie’s shadow.
He died in 2011.
The same week as Steve Jobs.
Jobs got the front pages.
Ritchie got silence.
This Legend deserves to be celebrated.

War is never inevitable. Weapons can and must fall silent, for they never solve problems but only intensify them. Those who sow peace will endure throughout history, not those who reap victims. Others are not enemies to hate but human beings with whom to speak.
Well, to sum up @elonmusk's activities:
* Cybertruck - makes perfect sense as a car in a rough environment where the fuel industry is not yet established, like on Mars.
* Boring machines - yeah, to establish an underground road system in a hazardous and radioactive environment on the surface. Mars?
* Humanoid robots... for sure the first batch of Mars occupants, and then the main workforce there
* Starlink - who said we won't need connectivity on Mars? And connection back to the Mother Earth?
* Recent involvement in politics... well, maybe it was to train before establishing Mars government?
* Not to mention rockets...
I know it's always a multi-purpose strategy for each product, Earth will benefit from those too. But I don't know anybody else more obsessed about the red planet.
AI - one thing that bothers me is replicability. In the case of humans, there's a true prodigy once in a while, but that's a very unique and rare phenomenon. Plus it's not guaranteed to propagate to the next generation.
In the case of AI any breakthrough can be trivially replicated by just copying data, making the old generation obsolete. Compared to biological evolution the pace of improvement here is just absurd.
This year I've heard that true love is stronger than death. It only makes sense beyond a single human being. For only one - death is the end including love. But for many, love spreads beyond death, builds up in others. That's the true spirit of Easter. Wish you all that love!
I'm one of those people who are highly resistant to post on social media. But this seems to have more cons than pros.
Starting with this post - will try to change that. Let's set his or looks like in a few weeks 🤞

You’ll often hear people say someone has good “work ethic” if they’re putting in long hours.
But 60, 70, 80 hours a week doesn’t equal work ethic. 60, 70, 80+ hours a week simply equals 60, 70, 80+ hours a week.
Work ethic is about showing up, being on time, being reliable, doing what you say you’re going to do, being trustworthy, putting in a fair day’s work, respecting the work, respecting the customer, respecting the organization, respecting co-workers, not wasting time, not making work hard for other people, not creating unnecessary work for other people, not being a bottleneck, not faking work. Work ethic is about being a fundamentally good person that others can count on and enjoy working with.
Works a lot ≠ has good work ethic.
