"but why would the harness be the more suddenly valuable part of the system" *rubbing my hands together, i've waited for this moment* it's been argued that the critical technology empowering the knight, heavy cavalry, was the stirrup. the knight dominated battlefields in the medieval because horse and rider could be brought together, in armor, upon a single tactical point. so today we are with engineer, model, and harness. we are in a romantic period of profound change, capability, and hope. we live in a time of heroes and monsters

I have used the holidays to finish a favorite side project: a short online book containing all that I have learned and know about #Web3 and #blockchain in the last 7 years. Hard to ever call it "done," but I am ready to share it with the world: blog.kianenigma.com/what-blo…

what if there was a decentralized computer which hosted any kind of application? and they gained resilience, verifiability and unstoppability?

Permissionless means permissionless for everyone, not just people who you like and align with. Don’t forget why you’re here.

Cypherpunks weren’t academics to be cited, they were anarchists who built without permission, who disappeared without a trace if necessary. They didn’t organize networking events on Luma, they purged your data before you even remembered you gave it.

are we improving people's lives and creating sustainable, long term businesses which provide valuable services and have revenue? then it's a success.

I’m trying to find a post I wrote about this, but to summarise (and why I quit my previous job which paid more) Access to self sovereign funds is crucial in the fight against tyranny. Unfortunately, many people in this world do not get to decide what their leaders do. Often it is the case that those in charge become tyrannical. When this happens, in recent times, financial sanctions are imposed on those nations which affects the people living there, through no real fault of their own. It is only with access to self sovereign assets that they are able to escape tyranny. All other forms of access to finance get cut off. Your bank accounts don’t work anywhere else. You cannot smuggle physical commodities like gold with you. You can however, take a piece of paper, a hardware wallet, a mobile phone, a laptop, or your memorized seed phrase with you. This allows you to leave and start again else where. This is what is important. Too many people that I know have had this be a reality for them. A lot of people in the west don’t really see this, a lot of people are focused on speculation only. Self sovereign and borderless assets are key. We can also go into other benefits like certain tokens being “safe harbours” for people stuck in countries with poor financial conditions such as currencies experiencing hyper inflation, but for me, it’s about being able to escape tyranny. You may think you will never experience it, I hope people don’t, but when it affects you or people you care about, you will agree with me.
