What did I miss? π
π I made a "simple" Coinbase crypto scanner/analyzer that checks for past dips to give me coins to check out further on my own.
It may be helpful or it may be complete garbage. I'll let you decide, but I don't recommend relying on it too much. It is mostly just something I needed for my own purposes, but I thought I would share it in the off chance that it can help someone else. I made it a public repo over on my GitHub too.

Driving Simulator Updates
βοΈ Added tire marks and smoke
βοΈ Added impact sounds (really bad ones for now)
βοΈ Worked on handling/etc (still needs work but getting better)
βοΈ Fixed loading times (there are still a few "lags" after loading but they clear up)
I published the simulator as it is if you want to try it out. It is basically just a burnout simulator right now. π

The main goal is realism. The untrained average Joe cannot expect to be able to jump in a REAL 400hp race car and expect to be ale to drive it properly and will likely just wrap it around a light pole. Keep in mind these physics aren't perfect yet, so you might wrap it around one regardless. More work needs to be done on the tire heat/traction situation, among other things..
There are a TON of control tweaks, so if you have trouble driving, try things like enabling/disabling driving aids, auto vs manual transmission, higher steering curve for controller, adjust mouse sensitivity, etc. I usually prefer no driving aids and manual transmission with a high steering curve for controller, cockpit view, and steering rebound for mouse, but everyone's different. Note: I have not really messed with the Logitech wheel controls yet, so they might be wonky.
π‘ I wondered if my web browser could control my Bluetooth LED lights. It seems like the answer to any "can it" question theses days is "of course it can!"
There is one catch.. It only works in certain browsers and it will tell you which ones on the page. I have it working in Brave after following the "Off by default" directions there.
This is basically the "one-shot" with one little tweak, but you can try it out if you want. Some of the effects "work", but don't really look like the description. But, at least they do something, I guess. I tested the 2 different LED strips I have and they both work (with the exception of the weird effects).
You can control the basics, or dive in to the byte level and see the communications going on and even send your own commands. You can also "teach" it unknown devices (maybe). There are like 25 preset protocols (devices) and you can export/import your own.
Try it out if you want and let me know what you think and/or if you have any suggestions. π

TIL Google Maps has some planets and moons.. I knew Google Earth had the Moon and Mars and maybe others now, but I never knew the regular maps one had this. You just have to zoom out enough. lol maps.google.com
π SNEAK PEEK at a driving simulator that I am working on. My primary goal is the most realistic driving experience (control/physics-wise) ever made! π
It is harder than you might think to make a realistically-handling car, even with AI! I can now see why there are always so many settings and tweaks for cars in games and how they all need to be "perfect" to work right with the physics engine and the various other physics parameters involved. There is still a lot of work to do in this regard.
One of my goals is to make a driving sim that is super fun and realistic to drive with the mouse. I think I am getting there (mouse control in video), but even that is super-frustrating to get right. lol Xbox controllers and Logitech wheels will also work with this by the way. I'm thinking about VR support as well.
The graphics are the least of my concerns currently, but those will be improved later. I'm not really going for photorealistic graphics, but I don't want it to look cheap either.
Anyways, have a look and perhaps even follow to see the future updates. I don't want to give up too much info before it is more finished, because it is not going to be your typical racing sim. π

Not exhaustive β Doctor Who alone is ~900 episodes. What did it miss? π

I just found another one that I guess I've never heard of. It was in my YouTube feed (so I watched it) and was pretty good!

π§ Introducing Earshot: see the sound around you, live, right in your browser.
Hit Start listening and every chirp, gust of wind, buzzing insect and passing car rises out of a glowing 3D landscape in real time.
Nothing to install. No account. It only listens. Nothing is ever recorded.
π earshot-app.com
What it does:
ποΈ 3D spectral terrain: the last ~14 seconds of sound as a landscape. Pitch runs left to right, time rolls off into the distance, and louder means taller and brighter.
π§ Sound detection: anything that rises above the background lights up amber. Tune it for birdsong, voices, dogs, sirens, traffic or insects.
π Live readouts: level, peak, dominant frequency, tonality (whistle vs. wind), four frequency bands and a scrolling waveform.
βοΈ Mark mode: freeze the picture, zoom in and draw on it. Mute or boost a frequency band (bye bye, fridge hum π) or draw a box around a sound to teach it a name.
π¦ Sound library: teach it a call 2 or 3 times and Earshot recognizes it by its shape, then shows the name when it hears it again. No AI model, no cloud. Share your library as a file.
π History timeline: turn on logging to scroll back through up to 12 hours, see every detected sound, and export the log as CSV.
π Speaker playback: hear the mic live through your speakers, with automatic feedback protection.
How to use it:
1οΈβ£ Open earshot-app.com
2οΈβ£ Click Start listening and allow the mic (no mic? Hit Try the demo signal)
3οΈβ£ Watch the terrain. Amber means a sound was detected.
4οΈβ£ Hit Mark to pause, then drag across the frequency axis to mute a noise, or box a sound to name it
5οΈβ£ Flip on Log to build a timeline of your day
It works best outdoors or by an open window, since it was built for birdsong. Mark mode and the sound library are still experimental, so don't get too attached to the examples you save. It could all change (for the better) and the old examples might no longer work.
ποΈ The mic I built it with: the Movo M1 USB lapel mic with a 20 ft cable. It's cheap, but it's great for trying Earshot out, and the long cable lets you run it out a window (TO A SHADED DRY AREA ONLY).

The best AI Seinfeld renditions to date. They even got the studio audience right for once! No Kramer in this one, though, so the jury is still out on the crazy nose thing. lol
π€ I thought I would share my Claude Code tips. I hope someone finds them helpful.
I know.. Everyone probably uses it differently, has their own process, or follows others on how they should be using it. This is just how I've been using it and how I popped out 6+ new websites with several more in the works. I am relatively new to the AI coding scene and I'm sure others are doing way more crazy things than I am with it. I am on the cheap "pro" plan and I have never hit my weekly cap, granted I don't use it 24/7 and "boosting" has just ended. I do hit the 4-hour session limits fairly easily no matter what I do, though, especially now that the rates are not "boosted".
1) I've never used loops, but I feel they are not needed for most things I do and would just eat all of my tokens/credits/$$$ in no time (especially with the "pro" plan). I prefer a "hands-on" approach. Fix a few things. Not good enough? Fix it a little more. Done (or tweak it later). Move on.
2) Session use. Start new sessions for each big task (or set of 6-7 smaller tasks in a numbered list). Once task(s) has completed, do not start asking it to do more work in the same session. If you MUST continue, use "/compact". You can tell it something like "/compact looks good except for the UI" and it will free up unneeded tokens for your next question. Do not keep using the same session! Start another session for your next set of tasks or if you need to make a bunch of changes.
3) Install some agents for whatever you are specializing in. I only have a few. I'm afraid having too many will muddy up the results. I just have some graphics skills and some legal review skills basically. I like to tell Claude to use these skills and not rely on him to automatically use them. Like "... be sure to use the threejs-skill-router to bla bla bla."
4) Probably controversial, but I use Fable (Very High) and Opus (Very High) for basically everything. Fable for planning mostly, unless I have some super crazy idea, in which case I let Fable do the first build (the switch to Opus). I feel like (from experience) if I choose a lower effort model or version of the model, I seem to waste too much time telling it to fix the things that it did not get right the first time.
5) Don't forget about Git branches and merging and all of that. Keep your main up-to-date, create branches for the crazy new things you are adding and merged them into main once you are happy. I've added several things that I ended up hating and it is easier to discard a new branch than having to undo/rollback a bunch of code changes.
6) Never use "it", "they", "thing", "the button", "you" or any other word in your prompts that is not specific and could be confused no matter how obvious it is to you. Replace "it" with "the player", "the enemy", "the user" etc.
7) Talk to Claude normally like you would another person. There is no need to give it a 10-page prompt for each step. If you don't like a button, then simply say "I don't like the way the buttons look.. Make them more sci-fi or something cool". Or, "that sort of works, but the player keeps falling through the floor". Or, "it would be cool if we could make the entire level explode spectacularly if the player loses". Obviously, the more you explain, the more it will do though.
8) Be nice.. I know, sounds dumb, but it helps. Tell Claude if he is doing well. Like, "wow, that looks great! But, we need to make a few changes. ...". Or "that looks cool, but I was picturing .....". Or, "LOL, that looks really bad. What happened? See if you can ....". Try not to piss off the machine that is trying to help you! LOL
That's basically how I use it. Do you have any tips for me? In case you are wondering, the only AI I pay for is currently Claude. I can't afford to go on an AI-spree with $200 plans and all that. Plus, I typically like to stick with one product (unless it really pisses me off) and learn its nuances and whatnots to make it work its best for me.
Me: Hey, Claude! Make me a site so I can monitor the sounds outside my window..
Claude: HMB
π earshot-app.com
I was wondering why it used up half of my Opus session on a seemingly simple request. LOL
ποΈ I bought a cheap mic to run outside to listen to the birds, so I could know when they were freaking out over things. I would say it accomplishes this. I suppose you could use it for other stuff as well. It all works locally on your device, by the way (no uploads). Of course, this site is only a couple hours old, so expect some changes. Stay tuned for more! π
Here is the mic I bought for this, in case you were wondering. I've only had it for a day, but it does what I need it to do. It's only $20, has a 20 foot super-thin (not sure how I feel about that) cable, and is USB as well.
