RT @dandarling: Reminding everyone urging Christians to VOTE in call caps (a sentiment I agree with) to repeat this urgency next time there…
Going to cover David Hume's "Of Miracles" today in my Intro to Apologetics course. Always enjoy showing students how bad his argument really is.

Along with his deep faith, thankful for Ernie Johnson's example of caring for his son who had Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Faithful service. Sacrificial love. That's masculinity.
You know a man is something special when Charles Barkley gets choked up talking about him. In 1991 an orphanage worker in Romania told Ernie Johnson's wife, "Don't take this boy, he's no good." Ernie said, "Then bring him home." Their son Michael had muscular dystrophy and lived on a ventilator. For years Ernie bathed him, shaved him, and told him he loved him every single day. Michael passed away in 2021 at 33. That is what kind of man Ernie Johnson is. That is what true love looks like. Ladies and gentlemen, that is a gentleman.

Ernie Johnson, a legend in sports broadcasting, just announced this will be his last season hosting “Inside the NBA.” He’s also a man of deep Christian faith. Watch this clip from 2022, shortly after the death of his adult son.

Every Christian already does theology. We just don’t always call it that. Anytime you say anything about God, you're making a theological claim. When you pray, you're acting on beliefs about who God is, whether he listens, and how you expect him to behave. Theology is the practice of speaking truthfully and faithfully about God. Whenever you do that, you're doing theology. The real question isn't whether you're doing theological work. It's whether you're doing it well and with increasing faithfulness. So, how have you done theology recently?

Shane hits the nail on the head here. I can smell AI from a mile away because it's so formulaic to get a response. And predictable. Almost... mechanical.
It relentlessly tries to manufacture "then the whole bus started clapping" moments. It's always hyping what it's going to say, then telling you how to feel about it. It has the cadence of exvangelical bloggers from the 2010s. It sounds utterly certain but never rly says anything.

In this sense, the Christian’s life is to be an art work. The Christian’s life is to be a thing of truth and also a thing of beauty in the midst of a lost and despairing world. Francis Schaeffer

Our college, on our main building as you walk in, has the beginning of Psalm 43:3 “Send out thy light and thy truth” over the entrance. It’s in Latin and Hebrew over the other two entrances. May that be our vision.

My oldest son doesn't do anything less that 100%. Just a live in the moment, give-it-your-all, kind of kid. And he's a good athlete. But he's struggled batting this season. Last night, at the very last at-bat, last game, he creamed a ball to the fence. I'm a proud dad.

Check out the new, more affordable Cybertruck (but pretty sure this one doesn’t fly):

I think Tommy Carr is an improvement over Underwood. But I think it’s apparent that the major problem is at OC.
