You shouldn‘t wash your hair with conditioner after a nuclear disaster: conditioner contains cationic surfactants, which bind to radioactive particles and can trap them in your hair.

@IntCricketC AGM starts today: Afghanistan women's cricket team - in exile since 2021, still unrecognised, their funding due to expire in August. FIFA found a way for Afghan women footballers. Cricket can too. Recognition and sustained support, nothing less. #AfghanWomensCricket

“There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs."

On the set of the new biblical epic film Ben-Hur, which is shooting in Rome, director Fred Niblo separates the Italian extras into Fascist and anti-Fascist factions, as they keep arguing with each other about present-day politics.
But then he has a brilliant idea: he pits the factions against one another in the sword-fighting scenes, and suddenly they’re a lot more realistic.
However, Niblo soon has to remove real swords from the extras’ hands, as they’re beginning to stage actual duels.
I have wine and snacks but tonight is getting better! Farewell and thankyou to @AntonyGreenElec for all his years of stats etc! And extremely thankful for the @AusElectoralCom and volunteers for our brilliant access to fair elections. Not taken for granted. #auspol #AusVotes25
This is not me. I would completely do this and it’s 100% justified. But this time it is not me.

Word of the day is ‘recrudescence’ (17th century): the return of something terrible after a time of reprieve.
This is so human. I saved up for years through my first job I had through uni to get a deposit to buy a car for when I graduated…but before that my first big cash spends were on my siblings school fees so I could lessen the burden of my parents.
This is how some my Yr 9 probably completed their History exam today…no knowledge or understanding or study…just feeling it in their bones.
Wrong re Australia…which makes me query the list’s’ credibility. We walk in, state your name, show no ID, vote. The AEC is a brilliant organisation and the US would benefit from an independent body running elections with the aim of no gerrymandering and increased participation.
