Stop being a coward. You have the potential to be great, but not if you keep one foot in cozy normal, hoping it will happen without sacrifice. Give up the boy. The silly habits. Stop focusing on what could go wrong. Laser in on what could go right. Go all in. It's time.

Peter Thiel's critique of European tech is sharper than most people quote it: "In the social democratic European societies, it's acceptable to be moderately successful. It's not acceptable to be wildly successful." That's not a cultural observation. It's a structural diagnosis. Look at the pattern: Skype sold to Microsoft. Spotify relocated to New York and listed in the US. DeepMind sold to Google before it could compound. Klarna — one of Europe's most valuable fintechs — spent years being investigated and regulated the moment it hit scale. The moment a European startup gets big enough to matter, the social contract shifts. Regulators, press, and public sentiment move from neutral to hostile. So founders learn to exit early — not because they lack ambition, but because the system taxes it. Europe produces world-class talent and early-stage innovation. It just doesn't retain the compounding. The constraint isn't capital. It's the ceiling culture places on acceptable ambition — and founders respond rationally to the incentives they're actually given.

🇪🇺 WELCOME TO TAXLAND 🇧🇪 Belgium’s PM offered his government’s resignation after coalition talks collapsed over how to find roughly €10 billion in budget savings. 🇫🇷 France’s National Assembly approved an amendment that would charge digital content providers €0.055 for every gigabyte sent to users in France. It still has to survive the rest of the budget process. 🇮🇹 Italy’s 2027 budget draft would hit certain long-term residents leaving the country with a 26% tax on unrealized financial gains if their relevant assets are worth at least €800,000. 🇬🇧 The UK is raising the top tax rate on savings interest and property income to 49% from April 2027. 🇩🇪 Germany will apply a 47% income-tax rate to taxable income above €280,000 starting in 2027. 🇭🇺 Hungary’s government has proposed an annual wealth tax starting at 1% on net taxable wealth above 1 billion forints, roughly €2.6-2.7 million. 🇪🇸 Spain already charges a 3% Digital Services Tax on covered digital revenues. Europe keeps finding new places to put a tax bill 💀 Source: Tax Savers / Writer: Sol

🇮🇹 Italy has come up with a rather CREATIVE new way to tax wealthy people. Even if you haven't sold your investments, the government could still demand 26% of your profits. Your crime: LEAVING ITALY. Buried in Meloni's proposed 2027 budget is a new exit tax targeting people with financial portfolios worth at least €800,000 who have lived in Italy for six of the previous ten years. And here's where it gets ABSURD. Say your investments have gained €300,000 on paper. You move abroad, and Italy could demand €78,000 in taxes. Want to wait until you actually SELL something? You'll have to pay €39,000 upfront and provide a financial guarantee to qualify for the deferral. So you could end up handing the government tens of thousands of euros on profits you haven't actually received. And how much does Italy expect this elaborate exercise to raise in 2027? A grand total of €3.37 MILLION. Not billion. Million. The legislation still needs parliamentary approval, but there's something rather extraordinary about taxing people for leaving a country while simultaneously making it considerably less attractive for wealthy investors to stay.
