Welcome to the CAPS twitter! If you’re passionate about ending air pollution within Camden, or want to learn more, you’re very welcome here! Follow for project updates and information about exciting upcoming events!
We’ve been busy! CAPS has helped 46 students, across Camden, build 31 light-weight portable air pollution sensors. (That’s 31 more ways of monitoring Camden’s air quality and 46 more change-makers.)
To learn more about the work we’ve done (and see the sensors IRL) come along to our champion event on Weds 27th April 18:00-20:30 at Google HQ in Kings Cross. There’ll be fun activities, an Action Against Air Pollution workshop as well as refreshments!

This week’s episode of Camdeners features Peter Murray OBE. In this fascinating conversation, @PGSMurray talks us through his life and work as an influential architect around Camden and London, and how cities play an important part as we move towards a more sustainable future.
Today’s lovely Camden resident shares with us his concerns about the invisibility of air pollution. Because you can’t see it, it’s not always obvious if/how much it impacts you. He was also shocked to read that pollution on the tube is much higher than recommended levels. (1/3)
This is why we are developing and distributing Community Air Pollution Sensors. By tracking and testing Camden’s air quality, we can bring to light an invisible problem.
If this has sparked any thoughts about Camden’s air quality, drop us a message. (2/3)
Having lived here her whole life, today’s Camdener explains how air quality has gradually improved. However, the danger of vehicles is still very real.
Recently, she was hit by a car whilst waiting at a bus stop. (1/3)
After a five month stay in hospital, doctors were luckily able to save her life. She would like to see safer rules for road vehicles and reduced air pollution may be one outcome of this.
We want to hear your experiences and thoughts about Camden’s air quality. (2/3)
Air pollution can affect the cognitive development of children, impacting their learning by up to a month.
That’s why our CAPS project is aiming to empower young people within Camden to monitor, assess and advocate for clean air.
