Defunding education will definitely lower graduation rates, and force more students into the trades, but they won’t be skilled workers. TechEd starts in high school, requires funding and trained teachers, neither of which the PC’s prioritize.

We’re saying YES to #WorkingForWorkers as we get more people into the skilled trades. We’re the only party that is encouraging apprenticeships and creating highly skilled jobs now and for future generations.

Perhaps the OCT should process the transitional certificates that have piled up on their desks, and earn the fees they take off our paychecks… we have teachers working on contract for minimum wage because they can’t get their OCT#.

The OCT has announced that Ontario’s teacher shortage is continuing to grow. Perhaps ON could start addressing this issue by improving working conditions so current teachers don't want to leave the profession or retire early!

Our department just lost a great teacher because the OCT has taken over 3months to process their certification… why does this process take so long for new teachers?

The OCT is so back logged with applications, there are 1,000’s of new teachers making minimum wage, or who can’t apply for jobs because they don’t have their certification processed yet. Shame on them!! They can keep their magazine!!

Today I paid $170 to the OCT. It blows my mind that teachers are required to pay this annual membership for a professional body that does nothing for its members.
Snow day just became snow removal day… 3hrs of snowblowing, and I’ve got start again at the beginning.

Every Ontario school board will receive the same amount of per pupil funding next year. If some school boards are providing virtual schools, then ALL should. Opting for a hybrid model is a betrayal of public trust. Trustees of such boards should resign.
