No need to reboot. Going down to single user shall be enough with: shutdown now, and ^D to return to multiuser mode.

Right, Grafana runs relatively smoothly on my NetBSD/RPi setup with surf as browser (thanks @etlabaume) - the tricky part now is how to make my 10.1 inch, 1024x600 touch screen work properly (X only offers 1280x760 as resolution, and I don't see how to enable overscan on NetBSD).

that is indeed my usecase - and yes, NetBSD has a package: surf-2.1nb16 Fast and minimalistic web browser based on WebKit2/GTK+ I'll try that, thanks!

The setup works fine on my crappy test screen, but not on the shinier 10 inch touchscreen

Folks, I'm looking at options to replace 2 of my Raspberry Pi (running Debian) with *BSD. Only requirement: run a web browser and connected on a touch screen. FreeBSD hasn't Firefox on ARM. Looking into NetBSD - any pointer? RT appreciated!

Had a productive weekend, and between many other personal stuff, I finally managed to setup my home Prometheus instance, along with Alertmanager and Blackbox Exporter - for monitoring all my IT resources 🥳
