Grateful to have been a part of a legendary run with a legendary Coach at the GREATEST College in the World! #WeR-UK …. And Coach you still should have put me in against Arizona for a 3Peat 🤩😂😂
On this day in 1997, Derek Anderson, after not having played since tearing his ACL in January, Derek comes in cold off the bench and hits two clutch technical free throws in Kentucky's 78-69 win over Minnesota at the Final Four in Indianapolis to send the Wildcats to its second of three straight NCAA title games.
"It was a piece of cake," Anderson said after.

That was my first game at Rupp as a young 16 yr old kid. Remember it well. Thought I had died and gone to heaven when the place exploded at the buzzer.

I think we all are guilty of allowing the only memory of the '92 UK squad to be the regional final v. Duke where Laettner hit "the shot." It's unfortunate because that team accomplished a great deal, considering it was the 1st year off probation & 3rd overall under Pitino.
Following a 2-year ban, Kentucky returns to postseason play in 1992 and after dispatching Vanderbilt and LSU, demolishes Alabama (which featured future NBA players Robert Horry, Latrell Sprewell, Hollywood Robinson and Jason Caffey) 80-54 in Birmingham to capture the first of four straight SEC Tournament titles behind 28 points and 13 boards from Jamal Mashburn.
