Millennials watched their parents lose everything in 2008. Then got handed $100k in student debt. Then got called entitled for wanting a living wage. Then survived a pandemic in our prime years. Then got priced out of every neighborhood we grew up in. And y’all really wonder why we’re not okay? We’ve been in survival mood for 20years straight and nobody even noticed.

Millennials born in the 1980s are starting to ask a difficult question: What was all that hard work supposed to get us? Work full-time, pay the bills, watch groceries and basic necessities become more expensive, and somehow still struggle to afford a home. There’s barely enough money left to enjoy life, barely enough time to rest, and an endless pressure to keep pushing forward. We were told that if we worked hard, stayed responsible, and made the right choices, we’d eventually build a comfortable life. Yet for so many millennials, homeownership feels like a distant dream, financial security feels impossible, and burnout has become part of everyday life. We’re not asking for luxury. We’re asking for a life where working hard actually pays off. Is this really what adulthood was supposed to look like? How many other millennials feel the same way?

Actually it's not a bad idea to keep a plan ready for this imaginary situation. Which I have. Thanks to our low burn rate & no debt, 3 months notice period & leave encasement payout can sustain our present lifestyle for a year easily, and a little optimization might extend by another 2 months. (Zero investments during this time) I will definitely do a road trip with family without worrying about anything. THATS ALL THE PLAN I HAVE. Rest, I will figure it out after the road trip :) I believe, having this imaginary protocol in place will help me avoid emotional trauma if that situation knocks my door. Infact this might help me negotiate a better severance package 😆. Who knows.
what is your plan if you wake up tomorrow and find out you have lost your job?

Serious question but what the actual fuck is going to happen when practically everyone has lost their job to AI, and governments have no tax revenue to invest in vital infrastructure, but millions of unemployed people to support?

Adapt HOW? I'm tired of this brain fart 😆
The next 2–3 years are going to be brutal for the job market. Massive layoffs. Fewer freshers getting hired. Companies doing more with smaller teams. AI is coming for routine work across almost every industry Whether you're a CA, MBA, software engineer or anyone else, it's time to adapt before the market forces you to.

It's funny how Elon was blabbering how AI will lead to "Sustainable abundance", just a few months ago 😆😆.

Having a good chemistry with the head of finance is fun. For instance, today he said "our jobs look safer for 6 months, as of today. I will do a reality check next week" 😂😂

This is probably the best tweet you will read today. A kid who was bad at maths, rejected by 25 universities and turned down by DeepMind three times, went on to build the software that OpenAI, Tesla and Meta now use to train their AI. His story is the best argument I've seen for never ever quitting. He grew up in Hyderabad (India), struggled with maths at school, and ended up at VIT in Vellore. VIT is a kind of college people call tier 2 in India, or probably worse. He applied to twelve American universities for a master's with a GRE score of 1420 and was rejected by every one of them. He flew to the United States anyway on a J-1 visa with no real plan, applied to fifteen more programmes, and was turned down by all of them except USC and, through a late admission, NYU in 2010. At NYU he started working with a researcher named Yann LeCun. Yes the same legendary researcher you’re thinking about. When he looked for jobs, the rejections kept coming. DeepMind said no. Almost everyone said no. His only offer was a test engineering role at Amazon. Later, he applied to deepmind again, but was rejected again. He kept building anyway. Around 2011 he wrote one of the fastest AI inference engines on phones, and still got rejected by DeepMind a third time, and then emailed LeCun one more time. That email, along with his open source work, got him into Facebook's AI research lab, where he barely made it through bootcamp. Then senior engineers several levels above him couldn't get a major image model to train, and he, the most junior person in the room, found the bug that had everyone stuck. It was his first real win, almost ten years in. He went on to co-create PyTorch with a team of three, and then watched management try to shut it down over internal politics. He has said he cried at a bar about it. A few people fought to save it, it launched in 2017, and today it sits underneath a huge share of the AI the world uses. His name is Soumith Chintala. Today he is Chief Technology Officer at Mira Murati led Thinking Machines Labs. When the going gets tough. The tough gets going. source - @autumn_ai_inc

Wow...shame on me for not knowing this!
25 lakh income from four different source is way better than 1 crore packages from MNC.

Forget those who use AI, even those who are working on AI products are getting laid off 🥸
"Those who don't use AI will be replaced " Even those who use AI are being replaced. Tech jobs is Saturated and it's getting worse day by day.

Hahaha. This is funny. This is applicable to almost all tech companies. Nothing is a revelation in this thread.
A former $ADBE employee posted the following on Reddit. Read it and get out of the business if you're still holding the bag. It's MUCH worse than you think. 🧵👇
