Now you can have the same menu as institutional investors. The question is, do you know what to order?

Institutions never had better instincts than you. They had a bigger menu. Pre-IPO companies. Private credit. Real estate income. Mortgages. Private equity. Quant strategies. Not because these assets were too complex for regular investors. Because the doors had minimums of $250,000 and up. Tokenization is putting the full menu on the table. The next challenge is helping people order well.

Brazilians are learning again the hard way that there’s no option, no matter your net worth, to keep the country out of your money. Investing in strong currency, countries that have a minimal rule of law it’s paramount to protect your assets and have hope to retire comfortably. Tomorrow they will see the Brazilian real devaluate at least 10% and the stock market probably another 10%, leaving them poorer 20% or more in just one day. Years of savings vanishing just like that. Don’t wait to learn in situations like that. Act first.

For most people, "investing" has meant two options: a bank deposit or the stock market. Institutions have always had a much wider menu. Short-term US Treasuries. Private credit. Income-producing real estate. Venture capital. Each with its own return profile, its own risks, and its own role in a portfolio. These weren't secret strategies. They were just locked behind minimums and accreditation rules. Tokenization is unlocking that menu. Dollar yield from Treasuries, income from private loans, rent from real estate, exposure to private companies, all in fractions small enough for a regular saver. But higher potential returns never come alone. They come with less liquidity, more complexity, and risks you need to understand before you buy. Access to better returns is a right. Understanding the risk is a responsibility. Same asset. Same structure. Fair access.

The biggest risk to tokenization right now isn’t regulation. It’s bad products wearing a good wrapper. A weak loan doesn’t become safe because it’s on-chain. An illiquid asset doesn’t become liquid because it has a token. A vague claim doesn’t become ownership because it lives in a wallet. Every cycle in finance has its version of this: a real innovation, followed by people using it to sell things that shouldn’t be sold. If tokenization is going to open markets to everyone, the standard has to go up, not down. Clear rights. Real custody. Honest liquidity terms. Access without quality isn’t fair access. It’s just a new way to lose money.

Everyone tracks the size of the tokenization market. Billions on-chain, growth charts, new launches every week. But the number I care about most is a different one: The marginal cost of adding one more investor. In traditional funds, every new holder means more onboarding, more paperwork, more reconciliation, more reporting. So funds stay small and minimums stay high. When that cost approaches zero, the economics of exclusion stop making sense. That's the metric that decides whether tokenization changes who gets to invest, or just changes the plumbing for the people who already could.

Before a fund charges you a single fee, it already costs $150K–$300K a year to exist. Lawyers. Administrators. Auditors. Same bill whether the fund is big or small. That's the hidden reason minimums are so high, and why tokenization changes the math. Fair Access, part 2 👇

If all your savings are in your local currency, you're already making an investment decision. You're betting your central bank will protect the value of your money better than any other asset in the world. In some countries, that bet has worked. In many, it has quietly cost families a decade of savings, one devaluation at a time. Diversifying into hard currency used to require a foreign bank account, paperwork and a big ticket. That's changing. Holding only local currency isn't "playing it safe." It's a concentrated position. Most people just never chose it.

Here’s an uncomfortable truth about private markets: We decide who can invest based on how much money they have, not on how much they understand. In the US, you generally need $1M+ in net worth or a high income to access most private deals. Many funds require $5M+ in investments. But wealth has never been a good proxy for judgment. Plenty of people with money make terrible investment decisions. Plenty of people without it would make excellent ones. The rules exist to protect investors, and that goal is right. The filter is what’s outdated. Tokenization gives us a chance to rethink it: cheaper compliance, embedded rules, better disclosure, real investor education. Protection should come from understanding, not from exclusion. Same asset. Same structure. Fair access.

Most people think private markets were "only for the rich" because the assets were too complex. They weren't. The door was locked by the structure around them: fixed costs, $250K minimums, and rules that let only ~2% of US households into many funds. Fair Access, part 1 👇 xitter.cf/cbscenium/status/21100…

People ask me why I'm betting my career on tokenization. I spent years managing funds. I saw the same pattern over and over: the best opportunities were decided by the size of your check, not by the quality of your judgment. A family in São Paulo or Lagos could understand an asset perfectly and still never get in. Minimums, paperwork, jurisdictions, structure costs. The door was built for someone else. Tokenization is the first technology I've seen that attacks that problem at the root. Not by lowering standards, but by sharing the structure. I'm not interested in hype. I'm interested in a world where the quality of your decisions matters more than the size of your balance. Same asset. Same structure. Fair access.

The best investments in the world were never hidden. They were just expensive to reach. Institutions spread the cost of structure over millions. You'd pay it alone. Tokenization builds the structure once and shares it with every holder. Same asset. Same vehicle. Same cost of structure. That's not crypto. That's fair access.

Billions of digital dollars are sitting in wallets across LATAM and Africa earning exactly 0%. Not by accident. By law. I wrote about how investors outside the US can earn dollar yield without a US bank account, and the 6 questions to ask first 👇 xitter.cf/cbscenium/status/21085…
