Low salary floors at news orgs have been the reason why many talented, smart, young, poc, working-class journalists are spit out the industry before they can show their potential. If BuzzFeed wants to blaze trails in the news industry, this is where it matters #BFNWalksOut
Management has also proposed salary floors cleverly designed to ensure no one in our union would get a pay raise. Meanwhile, they have not engaged with our whole benefits proposal and continue to refuse to even cement our current benefits on paper. #BFNWalksOut
