Welcome to the incoming IM residents! I’ll never forget @harryhan08 walking me through MISTO on my first day of residency…
Starting residency is transformative — exciting, overwhelming, and scary, to name a few! 🩺
#MedTwitter, let’s see your first day pictures! 📸
Food is community. Community is home. @ZSFGCare
Chief Resident @ccrawford47 shares her beautiful meditation on the @ZSFGCare cafeteria serving our #SanFrancisco community. When the cafeteria reflects diversity, support, and the meaning of home ❤️🌮🥗🥓
So many feelings ♥️

With deep gratitude, we thank our AY'21-22 @UCSFIMChiefs Chief Residents for their extraordinary contributions to @UCSFHospitals over the past year.
And with great excitement, we introduce the new class of AY'22-23 Chief Residents! 🩺👩⚕️👨⚕️🥼
Twas 2 nights before jumping back into the role of senior resident - feeling that blend of excitement & Sunday scaries. What rituals/habits get you in the mindset? I’ll go 1st - listening to my fav ep of @thecurbsiders about feedback & ➡️ TJs for snacks @UCSFIMChiefs

San Francisco @ 12 new cases/day, in city of ~900K. 79% of folks > age 12 have received at least one shot, 68% fully vaxxed. Upshot: we may well be the first US city to reach herd immunity, as described @guardian. @PCH_SF & George Rutherford @UCSF quoted. theguardian.com/us-news/2021…
Wow, cannot wait for this

Y’all! In less than 1 week, the first of hopefully many #HDPHumpDay drops will happen!
OMG!
@ash_mcmullenMD and I are nervous + excited + + grateful + ready (which pretty much sums up how we feel every day as academic physicians. 😂)
Here’s what you can expect. . .

@nbcsnl humor is medicine ✨ Guests for your next weekend update!?!!!
Lucky to call these doctors my friends.
Grateful to cope via humor throughout this year and our careers with an amazing bunch of humans. And also to pretend we are the newest & grooviest cast of SNL, medical edition. @QuinlanSievers @ngocbaotle @HArchibald90 @SmithaGaneshan @AnjaliJacob_ @EstherHsiang @jholtzman3

The second-year residents at @UCSFIMChiefs have settled into their role as physicians, but with that comfort we now find that the line between work and home can sometimes blur in amusing ways.
The UCSF IM R2 class presents several skits entitled, "Doctors who need borders".
THANK YOU @LorenaAD80 for moving bill #AB32 off suspense and out of appropriations, & @AsmAguiarCurry for your leadership. 👏🏼 to my amazing colleagues @sarah_burbank & Jessica Dong for moving and grooving on this advocacy train! Next step: Assembly Floor #accesstelehealth
Grateful for this and to have Dr. Lipinsky as a practice partner scheduling my patients for their COVID vaccines while I’m working inpatient! #teamworkdreamswork
scheduling our primary care patients (over 65) for Covid vaccines as of TODAY and it feels incredible! Is this finally 2021?? #tearsofjoy
Heart full.
Senior custodian William Wyatt was the first frontline #HealthcareHero at UCSF to receive a #COVID19 vaccine yesterday. William has been cleaning dirty linens in hospital rooms during the pandemic. #UCSFHeroes
It will take time to unravel the gaslighting woven into the last 4 years. Here at the start, it’s mesmerizing. heathercoxrichardson.substac…

25/ Many people have died, & many more will die...but we still have the power to save tens of thousands of lives if we – both leaders and citizens – make better choices. We can no longer claim we didn’t know. At this point, many Americans will die because not enough people cared.

24/ America is good at many things. But handling a pandemic – at least in our current political atmosphere – isn't one of them. In fact, we suck. We’re too individualistic, too spoiled, too vain, too partisan, and too willing to believe misinformation, conspiracies, or craziness.
