Funeral professionals need to use people's correct pronouns. We must learn to ask & use the pronouns that people choose, no confusion, no sighing, no eye rolling, as whether it's intended or not, that is a judgement on a person's identity. #funeraldirector #funeralcelebrant #lgbt
"Funeral professionals could do with a lot more diversity and inclusion training, not just for trans or LGBTQIA+ people, but for everyone. I don't think people don't want to do the work, I think they just don't have the opportunities to learn" Come and hear Ash at our conference!
We spoke to the brilliant Ash Hayhurst about how the funeral sector can step up when it comes to #transrights. #talkingdeath poppysfunerals.co.uk/talking…

Join us for our Diversity and Inclusion LGBTQIA+ conference for funeral professionals 10/11 Oct. If you aren't positively choosing to be part of the solution, you may be unwittingly part of the problem. #funeralcelebrant #funeraldirector #lgbtequality #inclusion4all #lgbtqia+
How, in 2020, can people be expected/required to deny their sexuality in their final years to secure the care that they need? If someone dies in care with no family this may lead to their having a funeral that doesn't even reflect them. #funeralcelebrant huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/e…
A good rapport with clients is vital. LGBT+ people look for services where they know that they will be welcomed/heard. The secret is in the small details of your behaviour. Join us at our conference, if you want to know more. #funeralcelebrant #funeraldirector #lgbt

Are you sure that you know how to be inclusive of LGBTQIA+ people when leading a funeral ceremony? Do you know what 'enby' means? Are you comfortable using they/them pronouns? #funeraldirector #funeralcelebrant #celebranttraining #lgbt #diversity4funerals #inclusion4all
If difference is an accident of birth, why do we give others such a hard time over it? Maybe we don't mean to? We need to ask ourselves some potentially challenging questions if we are to be genuinely inclusive. #conference #funeralcelebrant #funeraldirector #cpd
How much do we really think about the words that we use on a daily basis? And how might we can communicate powerfully by speaking to people's hearts? Excited that @DrawntoaStory joins us as guest speaker 10/11 October #funeralcelebrant #diversity4funerals drawntoastory.com/what-langu…
Understanding one form of privilege... we are lucky when we can solve a problem with money that we have.
Some deceptively simple life advice I keep returning to these days. From patients, dead friends, wise family. A thread. 1. A problem you can solve with your own money, isn’t a problem. It’s an inconvenience. (A reminder that so much true suffering around us is so BIG).
