It's odd to me how China gets (rightfully) mocked so much for having the whole country share one timezone, but we don't extend the same treatment to continental Europe. Spain, France, and the Benelux countries are just blatantly in the wrong timezone.

On a related note, if you loved Lingua Latina Per Se Illustrata and want to work on your Ancient Greek using the Italian Athenaze text, you can download it for free here: lib.undercaffeinated.xyz/get… PS: The link works and isn’t sketchy — I tested it.

Just realized that Hinduism in Southeast Asia is probably a good analog for what Near Eastern and Northwest European paganism would look like if the rise of monotheism didn’t put a stop to Hellenistic syncretism

You'll love #Portuguese then; you need only remember Saturday & Sunday. Domingo "Sunday" Segunda-feira "Monday" (second fair) Terça-feira "Tuesday" (third ”) Quarta-feira "Wednesday" (fourth ”) Quinta-feira "Thursday" (fifth ”) Sexta-feira "Friday" (sixth ”) Sábado "Saturday"
每次学一门外语,我都会为了记忆 “星期X(周X)”而抓狂 为什么其他语言要搞得那么复杂啊 明明一二三四五六那么方便
