Our approach to vocational education also emphasizes 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.
By incorporating current technologies and enhancing training methodologies, we can equip the youth with skills that are not only relevant today but also adaptable to the future.

The success of this initiative also hinges on 𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐲 𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐬.
While there are policies supporting technical education, their implementation often falls short of government intentions.
Advocacy efforts are therefore essential to 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐥𝐮𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐲 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬, improve implementation practices, and ensure that vocational training programs receive the funding and oversight they require
One such effort is our support for the upcoming 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐁𝐢𝐥𝐥, which aims to address these systemic challenges and provide a stronger framework for skills development.

These consultations revealed the gaps in existing programs and highlighted opportunities for improvement.
For instance, we learned that many training institutions lack systems to track the progress of their graduates, which limits their ability to refine their curricula and respond to market demands.
Additionally, there is a pressing need to strengthen the links between 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐬 to ensure that the skills taught are directly applicable to employment opportunities.

One of the most critical insights from our engagement with young people in Karamoja is their desire for training programs that go beyond simply imparting skills to focus on 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬
This distinction is vital. While many have attended school, the absence of 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥, 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭-𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝 training leaves them ill-equipped for the workforce.
