The more I see of the world, the longer my travel wishlist grows #wanderlust
Does anyone have a subscription to The Hindu epaper? I have a story out in the magazine today that I need access to please.
One more for Condé Nast Traveller Middle East - I loved writing about this weirdly wonderful hotel in Kandy and its equally fascinating owner!

I took a solo trip to Luang Prabang during a particularly low phase on my life. That’s when I realised the true healing power of travel.
For Condé Nast Traveller Middle East, I wrote a guide to this very special place.

Starting the month strong with a four-page spread on the coolest Caucasus city. Nope, not Tbilisi. It's Yerevan.
Ok, a bucketlist is a motivational, aspirational list of things you want to do in your lifetime, that is, before you kick the bucket. It does NOT refer to a cute plastic pail into which you drop a list of snacks you want to eat, places you want to visit, things you want to see.

Writer @charukesi Ramadurai has been to India's holy city of Varanasi many times. But never from the back of an electric rickshaw driven by a team of change-making local women.
This is Holy City Rickshaws, and they’re here to empower. @IntrepidFdn

This is one of the most special stories I have reported on recently, on the women doing the new erickshaw tours in Varanasi. Each one of these brave women has an incredible story of resilience and resolve, and I wish them all the luck in the world.

On my loooooong flight(s) back home from Reykjavík to Kuala Lumpur, I told myself, “I’m tired of this. I’m too old for this. I can’t do this any longer.” I’ve rested well in the 36 hours since I’ve got home, and now I can’t stop making plans for future trips! Anyone relate?
This legend turns 99 today. And this is such a lovely tribute to the ways in which he has enriched our lives ❤️

Next up in my #icelandalbum, the stunning waterfalls dotted across the country - it is said there are over 10000 (I can believe that, given how so many along the roads don’t even have star billing). I stopped to see only a handful, but each was so unique and aweinspiring.
Special shoutout to Seljalandfoss, where you can walk up behind the falls to see it from an utterly glorious perspective. I got thoroughly drenched but it was super delightful! #icelandalbum
I knew Iceland was going to be beautiful, but it truly took my breath away. Starting a photo series today of my #icelandalbum
For a travel piece on #SriLanka, I’m looking for new, exciting hotel openings across the country. Please hit me up with your recos #journorequest

How do you find a snow leopard in Ladakh? You find a snow leopard tracker to help you—experts who aren’t just helping travelers clap eyes on these magnificent felines, but working to protect them, too. @Charukesi Ramadurai pays them a visit.

You need expert eyes to spot these camouflaged cats in their natural habits. I wrote about the snow leopard trackers of Ladakh’s Lungmar Remote Camp work towards responsible wildlife tourism and conservation in the barren lands of Hemis National Park.

My Uganda trip late last year lives rent free in my mind - and my latest two stories published this month are from those memorable days. Here’s a six- pager on trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest to see mountain gorillas, in The Peak (Singapore)

Re. this old NYT article: Whichever side of the debate you fall, remember: writing always demands focus, dedication and professionalism. Don't treat it like a hobby, don't miss deadlines, don't be afraid to take risks, don't hesitate to ask for more money.
nytimes.com/2015/02/01/books…
Here's a question for writer folks: when struggling with writer's block, do you ever go back to a story you wrote ages ago and read it again, just to say - "Ok, so I CAN write. I can do this. Deep breath." No? Only me? Ok then.

Want to see cherry blossoms, but daunted by Japan's costs and crowds in peak season. Try South Korea instead. For @NikkeiAsia, I wrote about gorgeous Gyeongju, the museum without walls.
