Tonight our dear friend Alaa graduated with a BS in Dental Hygiene from @UNC. Alaa faced many challenges coming to the US from Syria as a high school freshman. Hard to express how much teachers from @chccs, @durhamtech & @UNCDentistry have meant along the way. We are grateful.

In DC getting in the Christmas mood, where the @USBotanicGarden is stunning today. The trains and camellias were delightful. So many poinsettia varieties. And I have visions of the staff hunched over with tweezers making replicas of local landmarks. Just lovely.
