Second paper in a week from our group. Not a publication rate we can maintain. This one by @julieherniman dx.doi.org/10.1002/jssc.2021… @UoSChemistry
Yesterday N2 generator trips mains circuit. Overnight 2 systems dead as next circuit in lab trips, a few hours reveal a motor short on rough pump. Swapped out. Not to be left out the plug to the monitor commits suicide and melts the fuse into the plug housing. Sigh @RealTimeChem

Very sad news. Our mass spectrometry world is a little darker today, we have lost a great scientist and leader of our field. R.I.P. Fred, your legacy will live on.
Sad to hear that Fred McLafferty passed away. I have lots of fond memories and anecdotes of my interactions with him over the years. We've lost another of the greats in my field! #spectrometry #chemtwitter #chemistry Cornell University
