someone asks Chomsky about the "Hamas charter" and whether he is horrified by it and it proves they and Palestinians are to blame for not having peace. He responds: Actually the charter is irrelevant and Israel is to blame for everything

National MPs freaking out about a tax on wealth that would target the wealthiest 6% so we can all have dignified incomes when they supported taxes on:
- Consumer goods (fruits & veges)
- Petrol
- Tobacco
It’s like they’re looking after the interests of the wealthy elite... 🤔
On second thoughts green's guaranteed min income isn't that decent, still way lower than super, which goes to the richest people in the country...
Greens just came out with decent guaranteed min income n wealth tax, about fucking time! Guess I have to help campaign for them now. #nzpol

As someone who's long argued for a wealth tax, pleased to see @NZGreens campaign on an annual levy of 1% on wealth (after debts) over $1m, and 2% over $2m. Would generate c.$8bn pa and bring us into line with global practice of taxing wealth owners as well as salary earners.

This does a better job at communicating our feudal levels of inequality to the average American than the vast majority of the subculture-obsessed, jargon-laden left-wing activists out there xitter.gq/CBSThisMorning/status/…
WEALTH INEQUALITY: The richest 1% controls more wealth now than at any time in more than 50 years. But what does wealth inequality really look like?
@TonyDokoupil turned America’s economic pie into a real one and asked people a simple question: Who gets what?
