Oh but darling, what if you fly?"

We decided to build our own instead of buying a finished product.
Then we put together a team of people with different expertise to do the job.
Many months later our demo product is finally being assembled.
My awe & excitement is mixed with anxiety & fear…zvichaita here 🫣

They come up with these shiny policies to “clean up” while sitting in offices but they are implemented in real life where things are a lot more complicated. What often gets overlooked are the unintended consequences, which leave already vulnerable people even more vulnerable.
WATCH | Jacob Ngarivhume has shared the heartbreaking story of Jennifer Chasemwa, also known as Mai Tsitsi, a mother of two who survives through vending.
Her brother, Asherby Chasemwa, died in Norton, leaving behind a wife and three children. The following morning, Mai Tsitsi travelled from Mbare to buy goods for her business so she could raise money for his post-mortem and funeral expenses.
However, Harare municipal police reportedly seized her goods during an operation against street vendors at Copacabana. She broke down in tears, explaining that she needed the goods to raise money for her brother’s funeral.
Jacob Ngarivhume’s wife witnessed the incident and stepped in to help. Deeply moved by Mai Tsitsi’s situation, she contacted her husband and asked him to intervene through Harare Mayor Jacob Mafume. After the mayor did not answer the call, Ngarivhume contacted the mayor’s personal assistant, who promised to help.
Mai Tsitsi eventually recovered her goods following the intervention.
Thank you Mayor @JMafume 🙏🏾

I bought facial tissue for Malachi and it says “for Men”.
He looked at it and asked me, “Mhamha, why are they gendering tissues?”
When they ask how I have influenced future generations you can have a conversation with my son 😅🤭

A 15-year-old does not have a "husband." She is a child, and what this story describes is child marriage, child sexual abuse, and attempted murder.
Calling her a "teenage woman" and him her "husband" normalises a crime. "Demands for sex" from a 15-year-old is not a domestic dispute. It is abuse.
Words matter. When the media uses the language of marriage, it tells readers this is a relationship gone wrong, not a girl who was failed by the adults, community, and systems that should have protected her.
We should also be asking: who allowed this "marriage"? Where were the family, the school, the community, the authorities?
Holding a dead perpetrator responsible isn't enough. Others enabled this.
Praying for her recovery. She deserves protection, justice, trauma support, and the chance to return to being a child.
