First time for Dracula in AD&D?
In October 1987, Tom Moldvay gave us one hell of a Halloween treat in Dragon #126. “Hearts of Darkness” explored vampire legends from around the world, and Moldvay turned some of the most horrifying into actual AD&D monsters. Greek vrykolakas, Scottish baobhan sith, Chinese ch’ing shih, and even Dracula himself! And yes, Moldvay gave Dracula full AD&D stats. Strength 19, 96 hit points, and PSIONIC POWERS! I absolutely love this stuff. Moldvay had a gift for taking folklore and turning it into something you couldn’t wait to unleash on your players. Which of these horrors would you unleash on your party? Happy Halloween week! 🎃

This clip came around at the right time. Honestly, post-interview ghosting is reprehensible but I think in this hellscape market employers feel emblodened to do it, especially to folks like Valerie and I in our 50s. Xers are tough: Just say you're not interested!
It was the worst of times, but strangely also the best of times--how to leverage the rough patches to embrace your truest self. My new video: “Finding My True Purpose During The Jobpocalypse”youtu.be/l5ElSHAUPMI?is=Lmnl…

Wise words from GURPS 3rd edition. I'm more comfortable with friendly fire rules/mechanics than I used to be. What say you?

This is great but it's not just color and contrast and shooting on film that explains films like Fright Night. The mid-80s was the height of the horror renaissance when filmmakers like Tom Holland @RealTomHolland leaned into classical tropes intentionally. Folks *wanted* it.
Did Horror Lose THIS After the ’80s? 🧛🎬 Why does Fright Night still feel so special? Lexi celebrates the mix of horror, humor, and coming-of-age storytelling that made ’80s movies so memorable—and questions why newer films struggle to capture that same feeling. Could shooting on film be part of the magic? Lexi shares why she thinks the look of film adds so much to Fright Night’s charm. Is it nostalgia, the filmmaking, or a little of both? #FrightNight #80sHorror #HorrorMovies #FilmVsDigital #TheLateLateHorrorShow

"Firefall" is one of my Top 5 Best Kolchak episodes. So many creepy touches in this one, including the way the doppelganger closes the apartment door without touching it!

Just finished first watch of Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! Masterpiece. No revenge pic, no feminist politics, just violence. Would have been interesting without a moral resolution plot, but even with the Production Code waning I doubt Meyer could have gone there.

Anyone experience ghosting after an interview by a potential employer in recent years? I hear it's on the rise. Meaning they say they are going to offer you a position after an interview and then never reach back out.
