The right punishment for the FA to give Manchester City for their cheating is for them to be forcibly merged into Manchester United.

A #solar and #battery programme in #Oxfordshire delivers £386,000 in gross energy savings across over 300 homes – but critically, this involves no upfront investment. Results recorded through Oxfordshire County Council showed that households saved on average £1,150. After paying a monthly subscription, the average household is still more than £400 a year better off. The findings, from home energy solutions brand Metis, demonstrate the potential of subscription-based solar and battery storage to reduce household energy costs by removing the heavy initial investment. energylivenews.com/2026/11/0…

“There are political repressions taking place. Now they’ve reached us.” Journalist and Nobel laureate Dmitry Muratov tells me how the Russian authorities have “strangled” Russia’s most prominent independent newspaper. Novaya Gazeta is closing down. #ReadingRussia

This is Milan, 40 years apart. We are not America. We don't need giant billboards covering our historic city centres. European cities are not advertising spaces. They are our shared cultural heritage. And some things are worth protecting.

🚜 Food & climate are the same story. How we farm drives climate change & climate change is driving what we can grow. British farmers need to produce healthy, climate-resilient food #Farming #FoodSecurity actionnetwork.org/petitions/…

One of the real constants in British public opinion is that people think that it matters not just for Ukraine but for the UK that Ukraine defeats Russia, which spans voters of all parties and so no surprise the Government leaned into further support in the Budget

New from me: The US has faced a higher cost than any other country from the global Hormuz oil shock, with the crisis adding $160 billion to its fuel bill — or $471 per person on average — despite being the world’s largest oil producer.

UK crime was four times higher when Oasis first played Knebworth than at last year’s reunion gigs. The collapse of crime and safer streets is one of the biggest stories of our time. But one almost never told - or believed. My take on today’s figures: comment.press/lawless
