Gonna be wild when Democrats don’t end the filibuster and pass their agenda for fear of what Republicans would do in the majority without the filibuster — and then Republicans take power and end the filibuster anyway and do whatever they want.

I'm receiving word you can order free covid tests from the USPS again — and this time you get eight. This is worth doing if not just to experience the fastest, cleanest web form in the history of governmental internet. special.usps.com/testkits

If housing fell 20-30% it would be only described as one of the biggest economic disasters on record. But when we ask future generations to save up 20-30% more, or take on 20-30% more debt, or slash their quality of life expectations, it’s generally seen as a fine thing

I don’t see how this is anything but an economic disaster. We’ve given homeowners billions for doing literally nothing, while condemning future generations to astronomical debt or plummeting quality of life, while cementing housing as an investment asset nytimes.com/2022/05/01/upsho…

The difference in CO2 emissions per unit of electricity generated between states is just mind-boggling 🤯

Teachers: We're tired of being pushed to our limits, being treated as martyrs, and being vastly underpaid. Can you help us somehow? DOE: How about we drag in any warm body w/ free time and give you the feeling you're replaceable?

The NYPD has a larger force than half the militaries of the countries in the world, a budget that would make it the 33rd largest military spender on the planet, and all the rising crime they are telling you about is happening on their watch. Police don’t produce public safety.

If we want to support teachers, we need to start talking about what tasks are unnecessary and can be taken away so educators have more time to dedicate to the classroom.

🧵In Maine, 22% of people live in a child care desert. If they do find child care, it takes 28.3% of a typical family’s income to pay for child care for an infant and a 4-year-old.

Legalize whole milk in schools. Currently all kinds of zero nutrition, low cal junk is legal but whole milk banned
Help legalize WHOLE #MILK choice in #school Our silence is our consent for @USDANutrition to keep enforcing whole milk prohibition, while our kids keep paying the price as guinea pigs in #DietaryGuidelines unscientific experiment. @NYFarmer @bigfatsurprise
I often hear people say the Constitution says that the enslaved were 3/5ths of a human. Reminder: the 3/5ths clause was not a recognition of partial humanity, rather a scheme for expanding the political power of slaveholders. No consideration of their humanity was involved.

Reparations are not a zero sum. They’re seed capital for the nation we are becoming: a multiracial society that has paid its collective debts and lets all who have contributed to its great prosperity finally begin to benefit from it. #TheSumofUsBook #Tulsa

What’s funny is that if the filibuster didn’t exist, the 1/6 commission would have gotten 10-15 Republican votes. Like, Manchin gets that, right? This bill *would have been* bipartisan if the filibuster did not reward total obstructionism.
