Introducing eunoe: context management for Claude Code that never forgets what matters
Instead of letting the context fill up and compacting it into a summary, it folds finished turns down to what matters and brings old details back the moment a message is about them 🧵
Though, folding is only half of it. The other half is recall
Nothing eunoe folds is thrown away. Every tool output and everything the agent said while working is kept, and each message you send is used as a search over all of it before the agent starts. The lines that match are dynamically quoted straight into your message, word for word, so the agent starts with the answer already in front of it
If you point Claude Code at its own transcript, it can reach 99% recall too, but it has to grep for the answer ~23 times per session and burns 4x the tokens doing it. eunoe gets the same 99% recall with about one lookup every ten sessions
Recall search takes ~6 ms, runs locally, and is pinned to the message, so it never breaks the prompt cache
eunoe is MIT licensed, fully open source, runs locally and has zero dependencies
The benchmark is built from my own Claude Code sessions so take it as a strong signal rather than a guarantee, and answers are checked against the exact planted fact instead of graded by another model. Everything's in the repo, and contributions are very welcome!
