The park is mourning the loss of Ventura congressman Robert J. Lagomarsino, who was instrumental in the establishment of Channel Islands National Park and is the namesake of the mainland visitor center.

Channel Islands National Park mainland visitor center is closed until further notice. The park transportation concessioner Island Packers has temporarily cancelled boat service to the islands. However, the islands are open for private boater landings. nps.gov/coronavirus.
