A popular vote seems a cruel way to decide if people should have to stand waiting 5 or 10 minutes longer for a bus in the depths of December. Those voting to scrap the bus lane will pass those waiting while in the comfort of their cars. Shameful stuff #Limerick, simply shameful. xitter.cf/LimerickCouncil/status…

I actually feel depressed after reading this. The city is just so backwards in its thinking. Giving out about the Crescent and at the same time complaining about the lack of events. Closing a bus lane for more traffic rather than pedestrianising for the season. I want to cry! – at Limerick, Ireland

Just noticed the two-year progress report on the Dublin City Development Plan 2022 – 2028 - it illustrates why continuous play street advocacy is needed. "Everyday street play" is entirely different to playground provision… #d7playstreets

Arthurs Quay Park. Just look at it. Gorgeous. Easily the best riverside park view in #Ireland and hard to think of a better one anywhere. The park itself however is outdated and badly neglected. Credit to LCCC for recognising this and opening a debate on it's future 👍👍 2/11

On the one hand, incredible building by Níall McLaughlin Architects… won awards etc… On the other hand, demolished three 19th century buildings within the Newtown Pery Architectural Conservation Area The building is so specific that any refurb will be costly… 1/

It’s not the scrapes, bumps and bruises from risky play that most parents are concerned about. It’s the very real danger of being hit and killed by a car. That’s what’s stopping children from having the freedom, adventure and free play they once had (and still need).
Before the 1990s, kids experienced more risk, more thrills, more physical injuries, and fewer psychological injuries than they do today. Kids had more freedom to make mistakes and learn from them. We have forgotten that kids are antifragile.
