BMC’s AI-powered CCTV initiative is welcome. But We demand:
❗️AI cameras at all major garbage hotspots in Dadar.
❗️A public dashboard tracking violations and action taken.
❗️GPS-tracked waste collection and source segregation.
Ensure accountability, enforcement & cleaner streets

Waaree Energies Repeatedly Dumps Toxic Waste in Gujarat Village
RTI records show Waaree’s flagship solar factory in south Gujarat repeatedly released untreated acidic effluent (pH 2-4) into a local rivulet. Villagers report foul smell and dying fish. GPCB issued six notices between April 2025 and August 2026, yet the company failed to disclose the closure notice to shareholders as required.

Dadar Kabutarkhana has been covered up with Acrylic sheets (now with the protective film yet to be peeled off)...
But @mybmc it looks aesthetically horrible.. unless there is any different render available..
Dadar Kabutarkhana & the Cast Iron Fountain are listed as Grade II-A heritage structures. Yet, @mybmcWardGN is proceeding with modifications without public consultation or, reportedly, any approval from the Heritage Conservation Committee.
@mybmc must clarify whether the requisite heritage approval has been obtained and disclose the sanctioned plans to public.

Heartening to see @MNCDFbombay
and local citizen groups working closely with Deputy Municipal Commissioner @DighavkarKiran
and @mybmc.
A simple meeting and ground visit has led to regular clearance of a long-standing garbage point in Khar, action against illegal dumping, and cleanup near Ram Mandir station.
This is the kind of collaborative, on-ground problem-solving Mumbai needs more of.
Officials and citizen forums across the city should take note and replicate this approach — cleaner streets start with listening and acting together. 👏 #CleanMumbai
Here is why it is important for people in public service to come on the ground and talk to citizens 👇
Recently, we met Deputy Municipal Commissioner @DighavkarKiran and made him aware of certain chronic waste issues in the city.
During the meet, he also explained the challenges Mumbai faces in solid waste management and the efforts and initiatives taken by the BMC every day.
Here is what happened after our meeting :
The Garbage Vulnerable Point in Khar, which has existed for nearly a decade, is now being cleared regularly following the intervention of Mr. Dighavkar. We have tracked it for 20 days now, it is being kept cleared.
The BMC went on the ground, penalised regular and commercial offenders dumping waste on the road, provided additional vans for waste collection and deployed officers to address the issue.
We appreciate Mr Dighavkar's visit and strongly believe that more government officials come on the ground, meet us, and work on resolving issues first hand.

A surprise visit, without any staff, was conducted today by Mr. @DighavkarKiran, Deputy Commissioner, Solid Waste Management, @mybmc, after we flagged issues at a Garbage Vulnerable Point in Khar’s Pali Hill area.
We also convened a joint meeting of Mr Dighavkar with members and representatives of citizen forums from across Mumbai.
This coffee meet was to understand city's solid waste challenges and solution and from Mr Dighavkar.
He took time and explained citizens about various policies, execution and current works taken up by BMC.
Citizens shared issues about their area and explained on various, on-ground bottlenecks in handling Solid waste across different wards.
Mr. Dighavkar has assured proactive enforcement, including strict legal action against illegal dumping of construction and demolition debris across the city.
We hope more officers from @mybmc come forward and meet citizens for a collaborative solution on various issues in Mumbai.

This isn’t the height of public service.
It’s the depths people will sink to — plastering their names across taxpayer-funded walls and calling the ego trip “beautification.”
Mumbai is heading towards floating hoardings now! 😂
At this rate, political parties will start erecting banners in the middle of the Arabian Sea with complete impunity.
Footpaths, flyovers, walls and now waterfronts. Instead of letting Mumbai’s public spaces become advertising billboards, why not turn them into tourist attractions?
Why settle for uncontrolled hoardings when Mumbai can create world-class public experiences, generate revenue and boost tourism?
Less visual pollution. More innovation. Regulated advertising that pays for itself.
