On October 16, Reuters reported that Pope Leo had called Putin to request a ceasefire in the Russian-occupied Ukrainian town of Oleshky to allow desperately needed humanitarian aid and food to reach civilians. The White House is now announcing that Melania Trump brokered a ceasefire in Oleshky, claiming SHE initiated discussions with Russian and Ukrainian leadership.
