City Hall analysis has found that 3,630 households were threatened with homelessness in London in 2022 due to receiving a Section 21 no-fault eviction notice.

I’m an ‘unqualified leaseholder’ and have written about my situation to @PBottomleyMP twice as I am in his constituency. Sadly no reply.

In March @insidehousing reported the results of a survey we undertook showing only 21.8% of leaseholders in dangerous blocks had seen remediation work start. 78.8% couldn't remortgage.

A shocking story of residents in a tower block in Salford.
The cladding was removed 5 years ago, but has still not being replaced.
One resident says "I`ve never been so down in my life living in these flats.

Leaseholders in this block are paying mortgages, service charges and management fees on flats they can’t live in, let out or sell
Some are losing up to £20k a year in costs and lost rental income
All because they bought a flat, which was originally certified with no issues

At a Manchester block of flats, homeowners are paying bills on properties they been unable to step foot in for more than two years, after the fire service issued a prohibition notice. The fire escape was clad in timber.

Shared ownership rent goes up every year, we have no say in the percentage as shared owners. We cannot sell or staircase due to the cladding so we just have to accept these rent increases to whatever they want? When will there be a shared ownership reform @michaelgove ?

With just over a week until the 13 March deadline, it’s somewhat concerning the government cannot even tell us how many developers have so far signed the remediation contract.
3 years on and we still need remediation to replace flammable cladding, insulation, timber balconies and missing fire breaks. No plan of when this will happen because developer @DurkanUK isn’t taking responsibility so we are having to prove this building is unfit for habitation

Crucial point here for @RishiSunak & @Conservatives. Freeing people from the gross financial abuses of leasehold, via a switch to commonhold, allowing literally millions of people who currently feel powerless take back control over their own homes, is big-time retail politics.👍
The @luhc figure is 4.86 leasehold houses and flats but that number excludes Wales and another 1.X million socially rented flats.
My figures stood at 5.7 million flats in 🏴and 🏴in 2013!!. Add in leasehold Houses that's 6.8-7 million homes
