2. The robust system of transparency & framework of accountability should be the backbone of the reform for local governance legislature and architecture. Otherwise we will export neo-patrimonial corruption from the political space, & import it within the administrative offices.
Is it time to rethink the role of Councillors considering the continued allegations on corruption and inefficiencies flagged by the AG's reports annually within local authorities across Zimbabwe? Have a read of my second opinion piece

Proposed 2027 @CityofBulawayo Budget public consultations are upon us, and Bulawayo residents cannot afford to sit this one out.
Residents have a right to ask questions, raise priorities and influence how their city’s resources are used.

What a powerful dismantling of #CAB3 by Ellen Shiriyedenga in Parliament today!! 👏👏👏👌 #NoToCAB3 #OneManOneVote
Undermining Universal Suffrage which was one of the main gains of the Liberation struggle shows how lost we are as a nation, unfortunately history can never be undone and records can never erased by propaganda.
Contradicts section 264 of the supreme law of the land which is the constitution (on Devolution), goes against the Devolution and Decentralization Policy, NDS1 and NDS2 earmarked for 2026-2030, Urban & Rural Councils Acts
Why recentralize instead of empowering Local Authorities
Government is considering taking over the management of all roads from local authorities as part of measures to address the widespread dilapidation of the country’s road network. heraldonline.co.zw/govt-mull…
