Clean Cooking Alliance (CCA)

Kenya has formally joined the Clean Cooking Alliance (@cleancooking) following its integration into the @IEA as a new multilateral platform. We look forward to working with fellow members and partners to accelerate clean cooking access, and make the 2nd Africa Clean Cooking Summit in Nairobi, January 2027, a true moment of delivery.

Looking forward to tomorrow’s High-Level Heads of State Event on #CleanCooking in Africa at #UNGA81. Building on the momentum from our July high-level convening, Kenya 🇰🇪 and Norway 🇳🇴 will co-host, with the @IEA, @_AfricanUnion & @cleancooking as co-organizers, and in partnership with @UN_Energy. We look forward to welcoming global leaders to advance political action, investment & delivery for clean cooking across Africa. When: 22 Sept | 3–5 PM EDT Scan the QR code to join us live. The momentum is building. Now is the time to turn ambition into investment and delivery.

Last week, I held a productive engagement with @IEA (International Energy Agency) leadership ahead of 2ndAfrica Clean Cooking Summit #ACCS2026, to be co-hosted by the Government of Kenya with IEA and the Governments of Norway and the USA. I welcomed the addition of @AfDB & @_AfricanUnion as co-hosts, an important step toward delivering a stronger and more impactful Summit for Africa. With rising LPG supply risks, this is a critical moment to accelerate sustainable, locally driven clean cooking solutions. I reaffirm my commitment, and that of the Government of Kenya, to work with IEA and partners to deliver an ambitious Summit that drives real progress for people, nature, and climate. @WilliamsRuto

Unlocking finance for institutional clean cooking is no longer aspirational, it is actionable. Yesterday, through the Clean Cooking Delivery Unit in our office, we convened partners alongside @InvestKenya and the Office of the First Lady, including @CleanCooking, @UNDPKenya, @MECS_Energy, CLASP NGO, @GIZ_Kenya, NACONEK, the Government of Makueni County, and @PrisonsKe, to validate Kenya’s Institutional Clean Cooking Sector Pack. Private-sector innovators including @burnmanufacture, IGNIS Innovation Africa, @ecobora , and @Feionventures - joined government and development leaders to translate clean cooking from pilots into investment-ready portfolios across schools, hospitals, and other public institutions. With tens of thousands of institutions still reliant on traditional fuels, institutional clean cooking represents one of Kenya’s most immediate pathways for climate action, green industrialisation, and improved public service delivery, anchored in KNCTS and KNeCS. Clean cooking is no longer only a development challenge. It is a strategic green investment frontier, and Kenya is ready. #CleanCooking #ClimateFinance #GreenInvestment #EnergyTransition #KIICO2026 #AfricaGreenIndustrialisation #Kenya
