Reminds me of Razaq Ahmed's @razaqahmed1 story. Guy just wanted to be a generator mechanic in his area in Kano because the most economically stable person around him is his generator mechanic uncle. Relocated to university environment later and saw that he (as secondary school student) could do the math the university student neighbours were doing. Upped his ambition. The rest is history. Today: - First class degree in economics - CFA holder without writing any stage twice - Current president of CFA Nigeria - ex Shell, Vetiva, Meristem - CEO & co-founder of Cowrywise - badass finance guru. All he wanted to be as a JSS 1 student was a generator mechanic!

Yes, they do. He might have just picked interest in being a footballer due to their exposure to football games and knowledge of football. When I asked one of my students what he wants to become in future he said a Welder, and wrote a composition why he wants to become a welder. His dad wrote to me to convince him to choose a better profession.😀 His dad is a welder, his brother is a welder, that was what he was exposed to,hence the choice of his profession.

Motion graphics for @Cue_influence I open with a pain point most brands and creators share, so the viewer sees themselves in the first few seconds. I position the brand as the answer, then show how it works in a few steps. Lastly i closed with a clear CTA ( call to action )

Your vibe-coded app looks ugly and unusable because you skipped these five UX basics before building👇

I decided to turn this founder’s story into a motion graphics piece. Rather than just explain what his company does, I wanted to tell the story behind why he built it. Sometimes, the story behind a product is just as important as the product itself.
When I was 13, I lost my mom to breast cancer. I still wonder if it could have been prevented. When she found the lump, she did everything right. She went to her primary care doctor, and he told her it was nothing. My mom wasn’t convinced, so she went to a women’s health specialist for a second opinion and was told the same thing. A year passed before she saw a third doctor who was shocked that nothing had been done and ordered tests the same day. By the time she was diagnosed, the cancer had already spread. For the next three years, she went through chemo, surgery, and radiation. Specialist after specialist, asking the same questions again and again. After she passed away, there were two thoughts I couldn’t out of my head: (1) Somewhere, a doctor must have seen a case like my mom’s and caught it early. (2) Nothing that doctor learned had any way to reach her. Healthcare runs in my family. All four of my sisters are nurses or pharmacists, and my fiancée spent the pandemic working in a multi-organ transplant recovery ward. I’ve seen how hard clinicians work, and how much of that work requires understanding the patient and recognizing patterns from past cases. That’s why a doctor can practice for 30 years and get better every year, while a hospital can treat millions of patients without getting much better at treating the next one. What’s missing in healthcare is the infrastructure for it to learn from its own experience. If we don’t examine the cause and outcome of every interaction, how do we get better at knowing which signs to watch for? I spent years at Google and Upwork building AI from human expertise, then eventually left big tech to work on the one problem I couldn’t stop thinking about. I started a company called Concurrence (@concurrencehq) and raised $24M to build data and AI systems that enable healthcare orgs to learn from every patient they treat. Nothing learned is lost, and it reaches the next patient who needs it. We’ve already supported care for over 10 million patients worldwide. My mom deserved a doctor who had seen her case a thousand times. Every patient does.

I quit two brand design jobs in the 2nd quarter of this year because my creativity was taking a serious hit. At the time, I was designing up to 9 carousels a week.😭 And that was only part of my work. I was working with two brands as their designer while still offering LinkedIn profile optimization to clients, still having to post content daily. So there were carousels to design, headlines to write, banners to create, about sections to write and Featured section thumbnails to work on. All of them needed ideas. All of them needed attention. And all of them were coming from this same head. 😭 I could do the work, but keeping up with everything was becoming really stressful. My creativity was going down, and I could feel it. It was a difficult situation because design was something I enjoyed. I wanted to keep getting better at it. Eventually, I had to let the two brand design jobs go. I chose to focus on LinkedIn profile positioning and optimization. The interesting part is that I still design. I still create banners and featured section thumbnails. My design skills are part of how I help clients present themselves clearly. I’ve just become more deliberate about the work I use them for. Having several skills gives you options. You still have to decide how much work you can take on and which services deserve your attention. Every skill doesn’t have to become a separate service you’re actively selling. Some can support the main thing you want people to hire you for. If you’re struggling to figure out what that main thing should be, I wrote “What Should I Be Known For?” to help you work through it. It’s a practical guide to choosing what to lead with, connecting your other skills and explaining your value clearly. Comment "GUIDE" and I'll send it to you.
